Aufgrund von Hinweisen aus der Bevölkerung wurde eine Operation durchgeführt, um einen vermuteten Verkauf dieser Tiere zu vereiteln. Die in zwei Koffern verpackten Schildkröten wurden beschlagnahmt, leider ohne, dass der Eigentümer des Gepäcks ermittelt werden konnte. Das Ministerium für Umwelt und nachhaltige Entwicklung und die @turtlesurvival nahmen sich der Schildkröten an, während die Behörden aktiv ermitteln, um die Verantwortlichen zu ermitteln. Die AGA unterstützt die Partner vor Ort bei der aufwendigen Versorgung bis zur Auswilderung solcher von Schmuggel bedrohter Schildkröten. Inflammation may affect both lungs ( double pneumonia ), one lung ( single pneumonia ), or only certain lobes ( lobar pneumonia ). Yep... the boy wonder has pneumonia now. The report reads, "Lungs, pleura and airways: There are multifocal airspace opacities in the right lung and left basilar region. No pleural effusion or pneumothorax." I spoke with the doctor on the phone yesterday and he was letting me know his concerns about the persistent fevers despite all of the IV antibiotics he has been given. We kicked around the possibility of a renal abscess, but that was ruled out on an ultrasound. Tyler started making the turn last night around 8:30 PM and by 9:30pm I was out at the nurses station being "assertive" and letting them know that I would like the doctor to be called and at the very least a pulse ox monitor and a chest x-ray. He just didn't look right. Within about five or 10 minutes the doctor was here and he not only ordered the chest x-ray and pulse ox monitoring, they also did bloodwork as well as blood cultures. His white count is elevated as is his CRP (an inflammation marker). He has been started on two additional antibiotics. So now we wait. We wait for the medicine to do its job. We wait for Tyler to respond. My mama heart hurts. This sucks.  (BTW, I will be going live within the next hour to talk about something that is very near and important to my heart. 📰 Public Service Announcement – Xylazine 📰 GREELEY, Colo. – Over the last couple of months, the Weld County Drug Task Force (WCDTF) has identified a tranquilizer called “Xylazine” to be found in counterfeit blue M-30 pills, which also contain fentanyl, in Greeley, Colorado. Xylazine is a sedative used in veterinary medicine. The effects of ingesting it include pain relief and muscle relaxant properties. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Xylazine is not a controlled substance, but it is not approved for use in humans. The combination of Xylazine and fentanyl is known to place users at higher risk of suffering a fatal drug overdose. The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has issued warnings stating that administering naloxone, also referred to as NARCAN, during the event of a Xylazine-related overdose will not be effective at reversing the overdose symptoms. This is because Xylazine is not an opioid. Experts still recommend the use of a naloxone for someone who is suffering from a drug overdose though, as Xylazine is frequently mixed with opioids, such as fentanyl, and it could alleviate those symptoms. If someone around you is displaying signs of overdosing, emergency medical services should be sought immediately. In 2023, the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) released a national response plan to address the emerging threat of fentanyl combined with Xylazine. The overall goal of the national response plan is to terminate this emerging threat and to protect the public health and public safety at a statewide level. No additional information will be released today. Shots Fired into Residence on Sugarpine Street Abbotsford Police File 2024-16140 Media: https://www.abbypd.ca/blog/news_releases/shots-fired-into-residence-on-sugarpine-street Abbotsford Police responded to a single report of possible shots fired heard in the area of Sugarpine St at approximately 2:00 a.m. on April 22, 2024. Officers patrolled the area and found no evidence of a shooting at the time. AbbyPD officers determined later in the day that shots had been fired into the basement suite of a residence in the 2500 block of Sugarpine St. Police believe this to be a targeted shooting, and fortunately, no one was injured. The AbbyPD Major Crime Unit has taken over the investigation and is in the early stages of canvassing for witnesses and collecting CCTV. Investigators have no further information to release at this time. Anyone who witnessed this incident or has CCTV footage of the area between 1:30 a.m. and 2:30 a.m. April 22, 2024, is asked to contact the Abbotsford Police Department at 604-859-5225. Details: File # 2024-55986 Surrey RCMP is seeking witnesses to a pedestrian hit and run and appeal to a suspect driver to come forward, where the pedestrian was left with non life-threatening injuries. On April 21, 2024 at 4:55 pm, Surrey RCMP responded to a report of a male pedestrian who had been struck by a passing vehicle near the 19100 block of 74 Avenue, Surrey. The man was treated at scene for non life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital for further assessment. Police seek information in suspicious death investigation File # 2024-9498 Coquitlam RCMP are asking anyone who may have information regarding a suspicious death reported on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 to contact investigators. Upon attendance, police located a woman in her late-20’s deceased inside the residence. During the initial stages of the investigation, Burns Road was temporarily closed between Dominion Avenue and Prairie Avenue in Port Coquitlam. This is believed to be an isolated incident, not connected any gang-related conflict. There is no risk to the public. Until the circumstances that led to the woman’s death can be confirmed, Coquitlam GIS will continue to lead the investigation while liaising with IHIT, said Media Relations Officer, Corporal Alexa Hodgins. Investigators believe that there are people who may have critical information about this suspicious death and are asking those individuals to contact the Coquitlam RCMP at 604-945-1550. Coquitlam RCMP remained on scene from Tuesday, April 16, 2024 until Monday, April 22, 2024 as part of the on-going investigation. Great work by our officers taking illegal drugs off the streets! From the press release: ### During the month of March 2024, the Seabrook Police Department concluded several investigations arresting a total of fifteen individuals. Twelve of these individuals were charged with drug-related offenses to include the trafficking and/or possession of a variety of illegal drugs to include heroin, fentanyl, methamphetamine, and/or crack cocaine. Seabrook Police Chief Brett Walker said, “While our overdose numbers and deaths have gone down over the last couple years, the drugs involved in many of these investigations are extremely dangerous and continue to represent a lethal threat to the members of our community. Enforcement efforts through the Seabrook Police Problem Oriented Policing Unit (POP) as well as our Patrol and Detectives divisions focus on taking these dangerous drugs off the streets. We are grateful to the members of our community who came forward with information aiding in these investigations. The involvement of the community sends a clear message that those pedaling dangerous drugs are not welcome in our town.” The POP Unit was created approximately two and a half years ago and announced at a Board meeting as a hybrid between patrol and detectives. The POP Unit works with both our Patrol and Detectives divisions and actively investigates complaints of illegal drug sales in Seabrook. Driver flees crash, two officers injured during arrest North Vancouver RCMP are seeking dash cam and CCTV to advance their investigation of a reported hit and run and alleged subsequent assault on two officers. Media: https://bc-cb.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/ViewPage.action?siteNodeId=2120&languageId=1&contentId=83799 April 17, at approximately 1:00 a.m. North Vancouver RCMP were alerted to a collision in the 2300 block of Dollarton Highway in North Vancouver. Witnesses reported seeing a white Dodge Ram pickup strike a tree and the driver fleeing from the scene. As officers arrived at the collision, other officers attended the registered owner’s address in an effort to intercept the driver. While at the residence, officers noted the passenger of an arriving vehicle matched the description of the hit-and-run driver. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the white sedan, but the passenger exited the vehicle, attempted to flee and reportedly resisted arrest. As the passenger continued to resist arrest, another man allegedly exited a nearby residence and tackled an arresting officer. A brief struggle ensued as officers attempted to gain control of the scene, during which two officers were allegedly assaulted and were injured as a result. The driver of the white sedan was issued an Immediate Roadside Prohibition for refusing to provide a breath sample as officers suspected that he was driving while impaired. The hit-and-run driver faces potential charges in relation to failing to remain at the scene of an accident and resisting arrest. The third man is being investigated for assaulting a police officer and obstruction.
