🦁 when you let Humie be in charge of the festive outfit… 👩🌾 Augie had a big day today. He got thwacked in the back legs by @sebbyonsafari a week or so ago while playing. He’s just not been right since. So, today while Yarn was getting his acupuncture, Augie had several X-rays done—without sedation—by the incredible team at #wooroolinvet. We’re off for a surgical consult next week. #Despite the stress and unfamiliarity, Aug took it in his stride and was still happy to have a pat and pose at @thebutcherscafe. 👩🌾 Holy Dooley, get a load of this bike! We spent our morning meeting up with the wonderful Jill and Sam from @ElectricBikesBrisbane to try out this funky cargo eBike: the Load 60 by @riesemuller. ❓ Today's big question was could I, Kate—an occasional cyclist who is used to a little ol’ three speed beach cruiser—manage an eBike of this size and technology? The answer: Hell yeah I can! This bike was an absolute dream to ride! It will take a little time getting used to its length, but that’s just practice. It was easy to navigate all of the controls, and the comfort level beats the beach cruiser hands down! I truly believe that this is the answer for me to regain some independence in movement, without having to leave the beautiful South Burnett! It’s all still a dream, but I just can’t wait to one day charge through the South Burnett with the wind in The Doods’ nose hairs as they sit up front in the mother of all dog bike baskets! Who would’ve thought that all that time Yarn spent being dragged along the SBRT in a garden cart as a puppy was training for this regal chariot! Thank you so much Sam and Jill for your time, expertise and encouragement! It was so nice to meet you! 🧡 Can’t you see Yarn’s puppyhood joy in the cart…☹️ I promise he actually loved it!
🦁 🤕 Another week, another injury. Poor Augie has lost a big chunk of leather off his paw pad and has quite a limp going on. He’s being a very good boy wearing his sock to keep it clean when we’re out and about, but at home: nuh uh! 🙅🏼🙄 👩🌾Yarn is doing a lot better at least, so with both Doods on light duties we’ll still be able to manage full coverage of our schools. Our little learner Augie is still doing a marvellous job picking up the slack with Yarn off on sick leave. Students at Cherbourg SS helped to keep Aug in the green zone so he could learn to run the agility tunnel. Don’t forget to stop and take a slow deep breath if you feel the wiggles coming on! 🦁 Get a load of this little suPAW star! 💫 After another almost full day of light duty work yesterday, Augie still had energy enough to strike a pose before heading home. Augie is still far too young to take on a regular full day, but he received pats and cuddles from at least 70 students between Wooroolin and Kingaroy State Schools. And he had the energy to do some basic agility work with everyone in session with us. What’s more, Augie is the only being I have ever met to actually draw energy from an afternoon session with a classroom if preppies! It’s almost like he was specifically bred for Therapy Dog work: thank you @ciderfields_labradoodles!!!

Announcing the official opening of The Therapy Doods! When THERAPY Dogs are labraDOODles, they become The Therapy Doods! As of today, The Doods and I are officially separate from Wunderdogs. There is no story nor scandal, it just made better business sense to split the business to simplify everything. Pam kept the Wunderrdog name, while I have developed The Therapy Doods from a hobby to a “jobby”. In fact, I have taken leave from my day job this term to invest myself fully into building TTDood programs and resources. So, if you’re a fellow AAA or AAT facilitator, watch this space as I will be launching some exciting gear soon!
