✨Reintroduction✨ Less than one month until I’m officially done with PA school! Since it’s been quite a while that I’ve posted on here (life has been very scattered), I figured I’d do a reintroduction (to motivate myself to post more) along with my new headshot 🫶🏾 Hello to my old and new followers! My name is Ebony and I’m a first gen PA student graduating in May from GW’s PA/MPH program. I’m 27 and from Orlando, FL with Jamaican and Grenadian roots (s/o to my parents 🇯🇲🇬🇩). I’m also a NHSC scholar! I love to travel, be near the ocean, listen to R&B, try new foods, go to the gym, and cuddle with my cavapookie Milo. I created this page back when I solidified my decision to become a PA and wanted to find a community of others going through the same journey. It was because of the online PA community that I felt equipped with the tools I needed to get into PA school on my first attempt and not only that, but all the schools I interviewed with. I wanted to give back to others in the way I felt like the online PA community helped me. I’ve also used this page to share advice, show pieces of my journey, and take on mentees. Regardless of how difficult the journey has been, it has been so worth it. I’ve also enjoyed every second of motivating pre-PAs or really anyone on the pre-health track and I hope to continue to do so even after finishing PA school. In other news, CASPA has officially opened as of YESTERDAY. I can’t believe it was 2020 when I submitted my CASPA application and now I’m about to be a PA school graduate. Keep going and focus on the goal. It doesn’t matter if there are others who don’t want to see you win. #englishlearning #shadowing As I think, the important and difficult things in studying foreign languages is not vocaburary or grammar. That’s listening to the sound and repeating it. So-called shadowing. 🗣 As for me, I can study grammar or reading for hours. That’s okay with for more than three hours without ever leaving my seat. Then, how about shadowig? No, I can’t. Honestly, it’s hard for even 20~30 mintues. It is something I have to put all my energy into. 💦 A couple of days ago, I started to practice speaking with examples from Hackers Toeic Voca. Studying is proceeded four stages. 1. Speaking in the present tense. 2. Speaking in the past tense. 3. Speaking in negative sentences. 4 Speaking in questioning sentences. This way, it usaully takes for more than 3 hours. My goal is to finish the amount of one day along Hackers Toeic VOCA’s every day. But the schedule keeps getting delayed. Let’s cheer up again! Shadowing is not the #1 most important thing, however it shouldn’t be ignored. The “purpose” of shadowing is to show the adcom you know what you’re getting yourself into. When you work with physicians it is only a small glimpse of the day in a particular specialty that you see. Shadowing is meant to see the totality of the specialty, both the fun and the stressful. Dadurch verbessert man sein Hörverständnis, lernt neue Vokabeln und übt die Aussprache. Außerdem hilft es, die Hemmschwelle zu überwinden, die Sprache tatsächlich zu benutzen. Kennt ihr das Gefühl, wenn eure Stimme durch ein Mikrofon anders klingt? Mir geht es genauso! Aber je öfter ich auf der Bühne stehe und meine eigene Stimme höre, desto mehr gewöhne ich mich daran. 🧑💻 When we started working with @nocnsf on developing and optimising their digital quality management system ‘Platform Sportinfrastructuur’, we did not just start working on the front- and backend of the platform. We also almost immediately started sitting down with the target group: professional users from 📋 certification authorities, 🏛️ municipalities, ⚽️ professional sports associations and 🏟️ sport accommodations. 🧐 These professional users need this digital platform to get their job done as efficiently as possible. They use it to examine and certify accommodations and facilities, and to stay informed on regulations, guidelines, recommendations and procedures, additions to legislation and formal standards for sports quality, sports safety and sustainability. 🤝 Actively involving this group in the design– and development process helps us understanding the context they are working in to get their jobs done. #Userinterviews, #shadowing and #remoteresearch sessions help us to discover details that can make their professional tooling easier and more convenient. And so it helps us in optimising this into the right product for the job. 🎯 #UserInvolvement is definitely not only valuable for consumer-focused projects, but is of great importance for the success and adoption of digital products for employees, suppliers, partners or B2B-clients.
