What does it mean to embrace a slower, more intentional, and mindful way of living?🌿 To me, it’s about practicing slow mornings, actually enjoying my morning cup of coffee, taking time to cuddle with my fur babies, and resisting the urge to immediately open my phone or jump into work, setting a peaceful tone for the day ahead 😌 It’s about being intentional about how I fill my schedule and pausing before taking on new commitments or a new task, ensuring that my time is spent on what truly matters to me 🗓️ It’s about living in alignment with my core values, rather than being swayed by external pressures or societal expectations 🤍 It’s about being intentional with the energy I choose to surround myself with, seeking out positive, supportive environments and relationships that uplift and energize me, while also being mindful of the negative interactions that drain me 🫶🏼 It’s about practicing conscious consumption - from the food I eat to the products I buy and wear every day, I strive to make choices that are healthy, sustainable, and ethical for people and the environment 🌊🌱🌎   It’s about spending time in nature, meditating regularly, and learning how to regulate my nervous system - especially when life feels overwhelming and stressful 🧘🏼‍♀️ It’s about removing substances from my life and body that don’t serve my health or highest good. For me, this has looked like adopting an ethical plant-based diet and cutting alcohol from my life (I’m celebrating 8 months sober next week!) 🎉 It’s about enjoying the small, in-between moments rather than just focusing on the big milestones. Things like going to lunch with friends, enjoying a quiet night in with Gerry, or going to the local farmers market on a Sunday afternoon 🥦 It’s about connecting with people and nurturing authentic relationships that bring joy, love, and support 💕 It’s about focusing on self-care and listening to your body’s needs, rather than pushing yourself to the brink of exhaustion 💤 It’s about living with INTENTION rather than just going through the motions to get by ✨ Remember, you cannot heal if you do not slow down Where are you feeling called to slow down in your life?

Excerpt: "This is a deeply personal topic that resonates with me on a profound level, as it vividly illustrates the impact of addiction within my own family. From a young age I made it my mission to warn my children about the lurking dangers of addiction that haunted the dark corners of our family history. I recall earnestly sitting them down, even when they were as young as 8 years old, to share the sobering realities of alcoholism that plagued our extended family – grandparents, uncles, cousins, aunts, and even their own father..." ____________________________________________________________________________________ [ "The Other Twelve Steps," is available now at www.TheOtherTwelveSteps.com ] CHAPTER TITLES: 1. When was the last time you stopped to pause, breathe, and truly be present in the moment? 🌿 For many of us, the answer is not very often 😔 And if that’s the case for you, I want you to know it’s not your fault Our modern society is built on this idea that being ‘busy’ and going ‘faster’ is better Most of us are so busy running from one task to the next, juggling work responsibilities, endless to-do lists, and family obligations that we don’t really take time to slow down, reconnect with ourselves, and simply be That’s why I believe meditation and mindfulness are so important - now more than ever before! Meditation offers us an opportunity to slow down, tune inward, and reconnect with the present moment So if you have been feeling stressed, overwhelmed, anxious, or just disconnected from yourself, know that you are not alone This is your reminder that rest is not a reward - it’s necessary for cultivating a more balanced and blissful life 🤍 And in celebration of World Meditation Day next week, I am honored to be leading a very special FREE Virtual Sound Bath on Tuesday, May 21st at 7pm CDT! This virtual session is designed to help you pause, slow down, and tap into a sense of calm, inner peace, and stillness through the power of sound 😌 Whether you’re a seasoned meditator or new to the practice, this event is open to everyone who wants to explore the benefits of mindfulness, meditation, and sound healing! I highly recommend prioritizing this time for yourself by silencing your phone and minimizing distractions. Treat this sound bath as a moment of self-care and inner exploration And please feel free to share this with a friend or loved one looking to slow down, live with more intention, and incorporate meditation and mindfulness into their daily lives 🐌 Tap the link in my bio to reserve your seat and prepare for an evening of deep relaxation, grounding, and self-discovery Here’s to trying to slow down in a world that rewards DOING a lot ✨

🌱 “Great things are done by a series of small things brought together” Vincent Van Gogh- 🌱 Changing habits is a simple concept, but the actual action isn’t always easy. It’s about taking simple steps consistently. Building on those little things over time leads to big change.🌟 I believe in starting small with my clients. When we set manageable goals and focus on gradual progress, we avoid feeling overwhelmed. Because let’s be honest, being overwhelmed often leads to doing nothing (I know because I’ve been there). Getting the basics right is everything. ✨ There’s definitely some things that can be done to help make it easier. Habit stacking, finding what works for you (there is no one size fits all approach), celebrating even the tiniest wins, and accountability all help lead to success. Looking to work with someone to get support? Send me a DM or comment HABITS and I’ll reach out to schedule a free 15 minute discovery call to see if working together is a fit. Let’s embrace the journey of growth together. What’s one small habit you’re working on right now? Share in the comments below! #ProgressNotPerfection #SmallStepsBigChange

"Why self-forgiveness first? Because it is one of the most foundational aspects of recovery. When you’re able to forgive yourself for your past mistakes, you can begin to move forward with your life and be more comfortable in your own shoes, so to speak. Self-forgiveness does not mean forgetting what happened or condoning the behavior. It simply means letting go of the anger, guilt and shame that can hold you back." This section of Chapter 7 list several ways to help you get used to forgiving yourself. ["The Other Twelve Steps," is available now at www.TheOtherTwelveSteps.com] CHAPTER TITLES: 1. “The cave you fear to enter holds the treasure you seek"- Jung This one is so powerful to me. 🙌 My digital nomad journey didn’t start 6 years ago, 10 years ago, or even 20 years ago. Did you know that my first international stay was 32 (!!) years ago? I was 7 years old. I didn’t know what I was getting into. My parents took me to a small island in Guatemala. It was a crazy time in Guatemala, voodoo was still very much in practice (it’s since been banned), and some of our experiences were SCARY. I am so grateful to my loving parents who were there every step of the way with me. They gave me the courage to jump into the unknown, and I want to say it really started there. Of course, I know deep inside that it did not.
My father was always a bit of a “put yourself out there”, “No risk, no reward” kind of guy. This was instilled in me, and it’s something I have channeled with everything I’ve done. From my first solo concert performance to my early days as CEO of @CityamiHosts . I had to really dig to find this photo. I wanted to find the original, bright eyed and bushy tailed, from 10 years ago.. but this will do as well. Even though only taken 2 years ago, the joy is still there! The story goes: I went to the busiest farmer’s market in NYC and spent the entire day standing there with a sign, striking up conversations with anyone who would humor me. No part of this day was easy. I was nervous, it was blazing hot outside, and I faced a lot of rejection. But I kept going. The sign is really important to me - until very recently, it still hung in my NYC office as a reminder of the courage it took to jump - and how far I’ve come since then. I was fortunate to have amazing parents who helped me grow in this way, but it’s not a necessity. Each of you has the power, if you can just swallow your fears and take the leap. Start with something small. Strike up a conversation while waiting in line. Invest in your first stock. Do something that makes you nervous! As you build this muscle, it will get easier and your challenges (and rewards) will just grow. I believe in you 💪

Affirmation of the day: I believe in myself Clarified by rebirth Please take a look at yourself in the mirror today and say, “I believe in myself.” Continue repeating this phrase until you believe it. Now is a very potent time to realize the change you want for yourself. The first step is believing. This affirmation is clarified by rebirth, and it could not be more perfect. The commentary of this card says: “Whatever space you are in now - sleepy and depressed, or roaring and rebellious, be aware that it will evolve into something new if you allow it. It is a time of growth and change.” You are constantly changing. You are constantly evolving. The mirror simply reflects. When you are in pain, the mirror reflects pain. When you are determined, the mirror reflects determination. It’s time for you to empower yourself and guide the change. I believe in myself. I believe in myself. I believe in myself. Repeat it until you mean it. . . . . #dailyaffirmations #dailyaffirmation #affirmation #affirmationsdaily #affirmationsoftheday #selfcare #believeinyou #believeinyourself #thesukoshimethod #actnow #smallstepsbigchange #smallstepsbigchanges #consistencyovereverything #consistencyoverperfection #consistencyoverintensity #dailyreflections #dailyreflection #selflove #mindfulnessmeditation #mindfulnessmatters #mindfulnessinmotion #meditationoftheday

In divorce, small steps lead to profound change. Whether you take a moment to reflect on your strengths, try something new outside your comfort zone, or practice self-compassion, each small step can ignite a shift in your life. Take a cue from June, who bravely stepped out of her comfort zone by going to dinner alone after her divorce. That one act of courage opened the door to a world of possibilities she hadn't considered in years. Remember, it's not about the size of the step but the intention and courage behind it. So, take that first step today, no matter how small. Your future self will thank you for it. #SmallStepsBigChange #Courage #Transformation #SelfDiscovery #Empowerment #Divorce #DivorceCoach, #DivorceRecovery

💪🏼SELF EMPOWERMENT💪🏼 It's easy in the busy day to day goings on to forget about you! You are taking care of everyone else, making sure everyone else is catered for but all the while you might find you are pushing your own wants and needs down. When you take some time to yourself you fill your cup up and you have more to give to everyone else. I know because I was the doer, the organiser, the people-pleaser who wrangeld everyone around me but forgot about me. It's exhausting! How can you empower yourself to step away from the people pleasing and into a more empowering mindset? In the lead up to Mother's Day here are three things... 💪🏼Look at yourself in the mirror each day and tell yourself you are beautiful and you've got this and give yourself a compliment on something you've done that you are proud of 💪🏼Prioritise time to yourself. Get up a little earlier to meditate and journal, you'll be surprised how those 15-20 minutes each day can set you up for a great day 💪🏼Recognise that you are allowed to do things for no reason other than I want this. The idea of actively giving yourself permission is very empowering and reinforces your ability to act in your own best interests, treating yourself with love and compassion And I encourage you to pass it on! Pass this onto other women and empower them too, this is sometimes more empowering than doing it for yourself. Don't let the other women you care about carry the friendship all alone. Show up, pitch in, and mean it. That's empowering! #WomenInTheir40s #SmallStepsBigChange #EmbraceTheJourney, #empowerher

Excerpt from Chapter 4: Now that your paperwork is sorted (good job!), you can start corralling your finances! You could be thinking: “Finances? That sounds so boring! And difficult!” But this chapter is designed to help you, as a beginner, just take baby steps. Here, you'll find everything you need to know to start managing your money, from budgeting to saving and, eventually, investing. But wait! “Money,” you say, “what money?” Well, think about it... Now that you're not pouring copious amounts of dough into your addiction, you may suddenly find yourself in the unfamiliar position of actually having some money! Without learning how to manage it, though, you may find it slipping through your fingers like water through a sieve. And before you get started, Don't be afraid of your finances! They're not as scary as they seem. In fact, they can be kind of fun once you get rolling. Won't it be exciting to see your credit start improving? And your debts start going down while your savings are going up?! So relax, take a deep breath, and take one step at a time! 🪴SELF GROWTH🪴 When you embrace change can feel intimidating, uncomfortable and damn right scary. I see you and I've got you, there is nothing more constant in our world that change. But remember, it truly is that one little step that will move you towards what you desire in your life 💫 Whether it's trying something new, pursuing a passion, or doing something totally outside your comfort zone, every small action counts. Last week in my private group I led the members through a series of steps to get intouch with their soul callings, it was a 5 part series based on a podcast I had listened to. When it came to the 5th day there was no 4th step 🤔I had listened to this podcast a number of times and had never picked it up that it went 1,2,3,5😆 So in true manifesting generator form, I made up one of my own and took a small step towards being seen by creating a video and posting it in the group. It was a bit scary but it's in a safe space where the women lift each other up so I thought no biggie until I got a notification to say that my video would be a great reel...EEKK! This means more than a little step, but I had had some great comments on this video so I said to myself, "Ok Universe I'll accept your challenge" and I turned that video into a reel, made it public and posted! It was out there, everyone could see it, and I felt quite good about it! YAY ME!!! Want to join my group? It's free! https://www.facebook.com/groups/1584654788956781/ Let's empower each other to take those little steps forward and watch how they lead to incredible, lasting transformations. 💃 #WomenInTheir40s #SmallStepsBigChange #EmbraceTheJourney

Excerpt from Chapter 2: If you truly want to protect your sobriety, it is very important to learn to say “No.” Here are some tips to help you: • Be honest with yourself about what you want. Before you say “Yes” to anything, pause and ask yourself, “Do I want to do this?” If you don't, don't be afraid to say “No.” • Be assertive. When you say “No,” it's OK to be clear and direct. No need to be unkind, of course, and you don't need to make excuses or apologize. Remember, your #1 job is taking care of YOU, not the person asking for something or offering you something you don't want. • Don't be afraid to explain yourself. If you need to explain why you are saying “No,” feel free to do so. But don't feel pressured to justify yourself. • And importantly, don't be afraid to say “No” to people you care about. Hopefully, your friends and family will be supportive enough to understand when you need to say “No” to something. It can be hard to say “No” to people we care about. Still, it is important to remember that your sobriety is more important than their feelings. ["The Other Twelve Steps," is available now at www.TheOtherTwelveSteps.com] CHAPTER TITLES: 1. The previous post explored sources, numbers and kinds of friendships. Now we'll delve into how you can nurture quality connections and sustain meaningful relationships as you navigate the early days of your recovery. In early sobriety, although it can be a bit nerve-wracking, embracing vulnerability can be a catalyst for fostering authentic connections. Opening up about your struggles, fears, and aspirations can allow you to connect on a deeper level with those who share similar experiences, creating space for empathy, compassion, and understanding. Recovery from addiction isn't just about abstaining from harmful substances or behaviors; it's also about nurturing your mental well-being to build a foundation for lasting sobriety or behavior modification. As highlighted in Chapter 1 of "The Other Twelve Steps," attending support meetings plays a vital role in maintaining good mental balance throughout your recovery journey. In these gatherings you can find solace in shared experiences, learn valuable coping skills from others who have walked a similar path, and create meaningful connections that remind you that you're not alone. By actively participating in addiction support meetings, you empower yourself to face challenges head-on and stay committed to a brighter, healthier future. Remember, mental health and addiction recovery go hand in hand, and support meetings can be a powerful tool for healing and personal growth. It's a chance for participants to continue to lean on one another and embrace the journey together! ["The Other Twelve Steps," is available now at www.TheOtherTwelveSteps.com] CHAPTER TITLES: 1.
