Diligent Dale, has been struggling to change somehow my entire poverty-stricken situation. Born an only child from long gone Great Depression parents leaving me nothing, but a box of memories. Thievery has gone rampant in my native expensive Southern California, given me recently the thief of my meditational, (besides my decades of guitar playing), Specialized mountain bike. Mind you, it’s not a expensively priced mountain bike compared to what more affluent people pay thousands for a bike. Thankfulness to well-know kindness bike shops, I was recently given the opportunity to obtain a brand new Specialized @iamspecialized mountain bike namely Black Mountain Bicycles, @blackmountainbicycles.sd and Revolution Bike Shop @revolutionbikeshop, and Laguna Beach Cyclery @lagunacyclery. I’m climbing forth… I’ve always been a positive free spirit, and loved nothing more than to frolic and dance in fields of wildflowers. So, on this recent sunny day, I decided to take a trip to a nearby poppy field to let loose and dance among the vibrant orange blooms. Riding along the ocean on the pacific coast highway through small beach towns on narrow roads in crazy traffic and then peeling off to climb up up up into the hills away from the hustle & bustle with spectacular views of the sea in search of fun gravel and single track. 🫶🏼 I love it all! Pavement, gravel, and dirt. Weaving around traffic or not seeing a soul for hours. After riding not one, but TWO legendary SoCal roads over the weekend, it felt like a rite of passage in my motorcycle journey. About 8 years ago I got my motorcycle license, and last year I got my first bike and finally got out on the road (and the dirt!). My vision for my life has evolved so much since getting my bike, and now I’m building my home wellness business to create the freedom for spontaneous, long weekend trips camping on the bike, traveling for weeks at a time, and eventually crossing the United States (and then more) with my husband by my side. 🏍💨⛺️ And now I get to mesh my two passions together here (fitness + moto) to inspire you to never give up on the things that keep tugging at your heart. Today I lived a vision board moment✨ My friend and I rode to a coffee shop to sit and work and chat. Seems insignificant, I’m sure - but it was a big deal for me. Ever since I got my bike back in August I’ve envisioned doing things like this. Packing up a backpack with my laptop and riding to a cute coffee shop to grow my dream business. Today perfectly meshed my two passions: motorcycling… and helping women find themselves through movement + mindset. I’m now doing what I’ve dreamed about for 6 years in just a matter of months. 🤯 And then after leaving the coffee shop and taking the scenic route along the lake, my friend and I split ways and I made my way home alone for the very first time. Don’t you dare give up on what your heart keeps asking for. You can stall, pivot, question everything — but don’t quit on yourself. It’s usually in that moment when you question and doubt everything that you are soooo close to a breakthrough. You’re so close to feeling that magic.

BIKE PREP‼️ . . Those of you who are new to the track please make sure your bike is prepped and ready before coming out. We will be running a tech inspection the morning of the event to make sure everyone is safe to ride! KEY POINTS TO GET YOU READY⬇️ 1️⃣ TIRES - Your tires should be new, or they should at least have more than ½ of their tread life remaining. The type of tire is less important than tread life and tire pressures. In other words, a normal street tire with good tread life and proper tire pressures will work just fine. While track-specific or hybrid street/track tires are nice, they are certainly not a requirement for you to ride the track safely. We suggest checking your tire pressures at the track. Changes in ambient temperature can affect your pressures, and it’s best to check your tires the morning of your event at the track. (Staff will be present to help you , please ask if you are unsure!) 2️⃣ SAFTEY CHECK LIST - Make sure your throttle snaps back into place by itself. - Make sure all of your controls operate and function normally (front and rear brake controls, clutch, etc.) - Visually confirm that your oil and brake fluid levels are sufficient. - Check your chain tension. - Wipe down your bike thoroughly and check for fluids and leaks. - Check for any loose parts that may be at risk of falling off of the motorcycle (rearsets, exhaust, sliders, bodywork, etc.) Make sure your oil plug and drain plug are on tight. . #horsethiefmile #coaching #beginner #learningnewthings #trackday #motorcycles #ridertraining #stressfree #getontrack #funon2wheels #socalriding #trackbike #cornering #safe

Today I strayed farrrrr out of my comfort zone and oh man was I uncomfortable. . The last time we did this ride to #wildomarohvpark, it was my first “real” ride on the streets with my new bike. Today - four months later - I did the same ride, but took the freeway for the first time! The freeway was a breeze compared to the dirt trails we rode today. I second guessed myself so many times. I got into my head, doubted myself + my bike, and completely psyched myself out. I fell countless times. Like, a lot. But I kept going with support + guidance from Jonathan, and I conquered what scared me - even though I broke my clutch lever, destroyed my left hand guard, and smashed a rear blinker (swipe to see the damage). Oh, and multiple emotional breakdowns occurred. . I love my KTM adventure 390, but obviously some stock parts did not hold up to the beat down I gave it today. I am so grateful for my new @rival_components skid plate that saved my bike from some serious damage! It did marvelously on those trails today. Now we can make some additional modifications with more durable parts (hey @barkbustershandguards lookin’ at your vps system — help a new lady rider out 🤪). . The dirt exposes all weaknesses and insecurities. My confidence was shattered multiple times; but each time I got back up, I knew I was putting in a vote for the rider I want to become! . What’s your preference: street or dirt? And if you don’t ride, what do you think you would prefer if you did??
Amazing and insane adventure night ride last night! We decided to explore some gnarly trails we'd never been on before...what better time than when it's pitch black outside lol. We actually got lost on one of the trails, as it was hard to tell which way to go at some points, as there were several downed trees and the trail wasn't defined in places as not many people are crazy enough to ride this kind of stuff at all, much less at night lol. Had to bushwhack our way at some points to find a trail again... It was sketchy af in spots, with some gnarly, super steep sections, and some nasty exposure too. One of our favorite SoCal trails is the Brown Mountain/El Prieto Trail. A 7.3 mile heavily trafficked loop trail located near Altadena, California that features beautiful wild flowers, mountain vistas, some steady rollers and is accessible year round. The trail offers not just access to mountain bikers but to hikers, trail runners and to dog companions. If you're in SoCal, we recommend checking this out- you wont regret it! ☀️🚵♂️💦

Dove right into the deep end today! It’s hard to find the words. Riding on my own has been a dream I’ve had for years. Ever since I jumped on the back of Jonathan’s bike, I always envisioned riding alongside him on my own bike one day. That day was today. And holy shit was it a day! The plan was to go visit a dirt bike park with our friend, and I would be on Jonathan’s bike with him since I hadn’t built up a lot of confidence + experience on my own bike yet. But this morning he asked if I wanted to ride my own bike and just go for it. We went for it 🤙🏻. We rode probably 100 miles today, through city streets, through part of Ortega Highway, into the dirt park, played around there for a bit, then rode the hour and a half back home. I could have said no and joined Jonathan on his bike. But I knew I needed this to gain more experience and confidence on my bike, and I probably gained months of experience from just today’s ride! Don’t ever give up on what you can’t stop thinking about. Don’t ever give up on your dreams. Don’t let your vision ever fall to the wayside because it’s “scary.” Living my dream one step at a time. Even if it took me almost 8 years to do it. 🏍💨

🐻 That’s a wrap on @tourdebigbear! . Beyond stoked to have a great family trip in big bear to round out the weekend. . 2 years ago, the last time I did @tourdebigbear I could barely survive the 70 mile route. Sufferfest it was, remember that @swamicrypto?!?! . I remember seeing the front group of hitters on the 100 mile route doubling past me descend the climb that I was barely surviving and I was disappointed in myself for not preparing better. . This time was different. I WAS THE FRONT. And I felt incredible. ( I was riding inspired! Huge thanks to @jasonpaez @tfulleronbike @bmconbike @jjanneck @devinwilson.jpg) I did my best and it was good enough to hang onto the top group over the top of Onyx a second time by closing a 10 second gap across the summit and into the same descent that gutted me last time. It was enjoyable as hell and a confidence boost that I super needed after dying at @belgianwaffleride. (Hell, I even cracked a top 10 climbing @strava segment with @philgaimon on it which is cool as hell because I have so much respect for his riding ability) . But the best part? Still having enough gas into the tank to enjoy a proper lake day of paddle boarding and RV camping with the fam. 🍑💉 Pre-Ride Activation: Banded Booty Burn-out (with kettlebell) . 🕺🏻This. Is. The. Jam. . 🚴🏽For realz though. #glutedoping pillar no. 2 is “Pre-Ride Activation, Always”. And depending on the demands of the training I’m about to do, or the current feeing I’m going for in the posterior chain, I pick and choose which pre-ride activation protocol to do. #glutedopermentality . 🔥The “Banded Booty Burn-Out” with a kettlebell is fantastic to fire up all the connections for glute control of the hip hinge strategy by getting into the narrow stance and slight internal rotation of the pedaling position and putting some smooth but fast reps through the range of motion that the hip is gonna have to control. Putting load behind it makes sure that system is ready to generate power because I’m about to go sprint hard AF 3 times during this 2 hours endurance ride. (Check out the second video rear view of my stance width and internal rotation position of my legs, THATS the position we try to recreate off the bike. It’s creates a lot of seated power.) . 👨🏻⚕️I choose the 30lbs on this one because its approx 20% of my body weight for 50 reps. I choose that because it’s long enough to really get the chance to wake everything up AND gets a good amount of sprint in the movement when you do it to re-create some of that snap necessary for sprinting and high intensity attacks in training. . 💪🏼Black band FTW. . . 🎥: @kylecoopermd .
