The Long Beach Venus is modeled on a 1767 bronze sculpture by Christophe-Gabriel Allegrain entitled "Venus Au Bain" that is part of the Louvre Museum collection. It held a prominent position in an alcove above the marquee of Fox West Coast Theater on Ocean Boulevard in #LongBeach from 1925 until the theater was demolished in 1987. It was an image from San Simeon Beach in San Simeon, California, a visual echo of a day when the horizon bid farewell to the sun. This particular sunset, lost in the labyrinth of time, now resurfaced with a sense of nostalgia. The clouds, a rare congregation in the sky, boasted strokes of pink and orange that I haven't captured cloud formations like this in a long time. They were like ethereal brushed strokes on nature's canvas, each hue a testament to the day's final flourish. Heisler Park in #LagunaBeach was named after Howard G. Heisler, a member of the Laguna Company that bought the property from the Irvine Company in 1905. Heisler organized support and provided land for Pomona College to build a Marine Laboratory in 1913. He also provided the choice lot at half price that now hosts today’s Laguna Art Museum. In 1933, he built the recently-restored Heisler Building on Coast Highway, considered one of Laguna’s three most architecturally attractive businesses. Encore une folle et belle journée sous le soleil Californien ! Aujourd'hui nous avons fait route vers la côte pour découvrir Santa Cruz et sa fête foraine permanente en bord de plage. The #SoFiStadium site in #Inglewood was previously home to the #HollywoodPark thoroughbred race course. Hollywood Park is now an entertainment complex and master-planned neighborhood anchored by the stadium. SoFi Stadium was designed by HKS and consists of the stadium itself, a pedestrian plaza and the 6,000-seat Youtube Theater performance venue. Opened in September 2020, the fixed-roof, 70,240-seat indoor-outdoor stadium is home to the NFL's Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers, as well as the annual LA Bowl in college football. Above the stadium is an independently supported translucent canopy which covers the stadium proper, the adjacent pedestrian plaza and the attached performance venue.
