Media maratón Almería '24 14/04/2024 Ese día tenia que quedar grabado. Contenta de poder volver después de 6 meses y aún sin estar al 100% de la lesión. Poder probar sensaciones, volver a sentirlo. Aunque no haya podido correrla con una buena preparación, me siento orgullosa. Bien de sensaciones hasta el km 15, que a partir de ese momento se me ha puesto cuesta arriba "nunca mejor dicho". During our life after Ry's autism diagnosis, I've met many naysayers and people who limited his potential. Autism is permanent and it's best to just accept it. That never set right for me for when Ry regressed, his health crashed too. And when you put pen to paper (I recommend this for every parent, and this is something that the parents we coach are encouraged and empowered to do)... we got better awareness into Ry's story. This graph is a picture of Ry's weight percentile. His first year was stellar... 90th percentile for weight and then it crashed. I know we are told that there's no link between childhood "interventions" and autism and maybe that's true but for Ry his health crashed right around the same time as a doctor visit and a peanut allergy. And when his health crashed and he stopped gaining weight was when he regressed. He started pooping ten times a day and lost his words. Medicine and supplements went through him undigested and them Spring 2010 we discovered homeopathy. And the boy who had truly stopped growing gained 10lbs and grew 3 inches in 6 weeks. And when he started to grow again... his progress skyrocketed. Every parent understanding your unique child's story... pen to paper... and being open to finding what your child needs, can be game-changing. Be curious to look beyond one diagnosis. Support your child as they need to be supported.

You are surrounded by blessings even single day. I remember after Ry was diagnosed with autism and multiple life threatening allergies... feeling sorry for myself. Why me? Why my family? Why am I the 1 in 128? But then one day I asked what if this wasn't happening to me or my family, but what if it was happening for my family. And with that the journey changed. I got curious to see the lessons. I got curious to find the clues my son was sharing (and had been sharing for years). I was grateful for the food allergies and while cooking is my normal to keep him safe- I realized is allergies kept all of us safe. No GMOs. No refined oils. No BS ingredients. No high mold foods. No Gluten or processed crap. Change your story, change your life. You can do this.

This ray of sunshine was born two weeks after her brother was diagnosed with autism. And while I was overwhelmed and worried and slightly freaking out. She came at exactly the right time. Was I worried she might be diagnosed with autism as well, hell yes. But did I do things differently with her- absolutely. I had to turn off autopilot after Ry's diagnosis. No more assuming things were safe... food, restaurants, ingredients, medical interventions, household cleaners, dishes, carpets, mattresses, clothing, pjs... Everything was fair game. And when turn off autopilot and stop assuming things... you become curious AF and make better decisions. You start following your intuition and not just following the crowd. And did I have her evaluated along the way, of course. But stepping into the driver seat is such a key important step as a parent. Getting empowered. Getting informed. Truly helps set everyone for success.

April is considered Autism Acceptance Month and April 2nd was noted as Autism Awareness Day. But for me this is everyday. And now the official CDC stat is 1 in 36. I believe this stat is still under represented. When Ry was in 7th grade, his grade had 100 students. 5 of the 100 had a diagnosis. This would make the stat there 1 in 20. And this doesn’t include the students that weren’t mainstreamed. And while it’s important to be aware of autism and accept autism, we need to do so much more. Our children need to be loved. Our children need to be included. Our children need to be supported to allow their superpowers to shine. When Ry was diagnosed, most experts limited his potential. We were told to set our expectations low and that at best life skills. That was bs. Ry continues to astonish and amaze and we continue to support him as he needs to be supported. And most things that have helped aren’t covered by insurance. Non-processed organic food, homeopathy, chiropractic care, minimizing toxins, primitive reflex integration, biomagnetism, vision therapy, etc These are all the topics and secrets we share each episode of Autism Parenting Secrets podcast. QUERIDA DESÉRTICA 2023 21 de octubre, día para el recuerdo. Vaya reto me puse…gran reto, y lo conseguí💪🏼 70km, 10h36min, para cuanto da todas esas horas por esos caminos, buenas y malas sensaciones, dolores, pensamientos con los que lidiar, miedo de no llegar, escuchar experiencias de otros corredores… Hasta el km 35, estaba controlado, el reto empezaba a partir de ahí, y si, si fue duro, pero tantas horas trabajadas, entrenos, lágrimas, nervios, tantos kilometros de sufrimiento dieron su fruto. Un dolor en la rodilla me hizo sentir miedo de no poder terminarla, pero logré llegar al km 50, un poquito de fisio y a seguir. Una experiencia única, increíble, e irrepetible. Gracias por hacerme vivir esta experiencia mi dieguitoo, por hacer de esta locura el reto del año, por esas horas juntos de sufrimiento, quien me iba a decir que sería capaz de hacer esto. Ya sabes que yo ya me quedo con mis 1/2 maratones 😜 @dominguezlopezjuanjose a ti que decirte, por adaptar mis entrenos a esta locura y apoyarme. @estherciya5 @fisioyelamos por hacer que mis piernas estuvieran preparadas para ese día.
