Quite frankly, dead poorly atm but had to finish this otherwise the iron water would have eaten through the fabric if I'd left it! Second hand Charity shop t-shirt. Scoured with soda ash. Mordanted with aluminum lactate. Dyed with October dock leaf stem stem seed and leaf. Result 1. I think dye pot too small ~ or Ieft too long as awful dark patches, creases. 2.armpits were dark marked and unsavory looking. Not visable when bought and I'd assumed scouring would remove any residue... Wrong! 3. Decided to over eco print with tannin rich leaves... Rose, raspberry, blackcurrant and eucalyptus. With an iron water blanket. In the hope I could disguise the dirty looking and creased marks. 4. Bundle steamed for 90 minutes, turned and drizzled in vinegar when steaming. Too poorly to take pics of process. But really I'd rather wear this than the initial dock dyed effort! All learning is good! Grubby looking though! Weird hack coming at ya. It’s a pretty sweaty summer and my current deodorant regimen was not cutting it. So someone told me about a fancy deodorant that had been recommended to them so I looked it up and noticed that the main ingredient was zinc. Well I just so happened to have this tube of Young Living sunscreen that had expired but I just hadn’t thrown it away (date expired but product still smells and feels fine. By all means, keep that B.O. a secret- but, are you actually STILL using ‘Secret’ deodorant!? (Worth the read ⬇️) I used Secret antiperspirant/deodorant for like ever. I feel it’s all that was out there growing up and I did not want to be the stinky girl, so I kept that shit a secret 😝 Now that I’m older and of course, MUCH wiser: I know a couple two, three things about deodorants.. The first quite a few ‘natural’ deodorant brands I tried were terrible. My armpits would either still stink, itch and be red raw or both. I always turn to my girl Amanda @organicbunny for some insight and ordered a couple brands she recommended on her site. I HIT THE JACKPOT WITH @rusticmaka Guess what was the root of my problems with the other deodorant brands.. FRIGGEN BAKING SODA. I personally consider baking soda as an ingredient not bad but, the way it irritated my pits- it had to go! If you’re struggling with reactions from ‘natural’ deodorants try one without baking soda and I’d bet you’ll see a difference. @rusticmaka has such a great variety. I haven’t had a ‘scent’ that I didn’t like (I think I’ve tried about 6 now) and I DON’T STINK. Below I listed just a few ingredients found in most deodorants and why to avoid them. Most drug store antiperspirants contain: ALUMINUM- why the f do I need tin foil to combat my B.O.? Ok, it’s not exactly like that but, these aluminums essentially block your sweat glands which may sound ideal but, have been linked to Alzheimer’s and breast cancer. TRICLOSAN- antibacterial agent that is so strong it’s actually classified as a pesticide. PARABENS- (come in many shapes and sizes..and sentences for names) synthetic preservatives that pass through skin ridiculously easily and mimic what estrogen does in our bodies. This causes major hormone disruption. May I add Parabens are are found in 75%+ of cosmetic and skincare products 🤯 These are just 3 of many ingredients to avoid.
