This Barbie is a plumber AND a local politician 💅💅💅 I mean, how excited was I that the week Barbie came out was also the same week I spoke at my first full council meeting, and the week the Womens World Cup started! Of course I booked to see Barbie weeks in advance for the day it came out LOL. I’ve been so excited ever since those roller blade pics dropped! I cried within the first 5 mins when it showed them all on the construction site next to the ‘women working’ sign 😭 Do I think a two hour film is enough to undo the damage that Barbie has done over the years? A previous 1983 extension was demolished and a new addition added in a full refurbishment of the site in 2011-13. The building was officially opened as 'Stretford Town Hall'. However upon the formation of the Metropolitan Borough of Trafford, the new council adopted this Town Hall as it's base and renamed it as we know it today. There is a lovely garden area to east of the building. This ghostly monk forms part of the #stainedglasswindow above the central staircase at #traffordtownhall maybe a reference to the artist or the DeTrafford family? Perhaps @traffordmetroofficial can thrown some light on it? The building now known as Trafford Town Hall stands on a large previously undeveloped site at the junction of Talbot Road and Warwick Road in Stretford. It was designed by architects Bradshaw Gass and Hope of Bolton on behalf of Stretford Municipal Borough, and built by the main contractor Edwin Marshall & Sons. Work began on 21 August 1931, the building was officially opened as Stretford Town Hall on the granting of Stretford's charter on 16 September 1933 Inside the building, on either side of the central staircase are bronze statues, one of Electra who was one of the 3,000 Oceanids, and the other of Njörðr, who was the God of wind and sea.
