Lived #TrugLife to the fullest yesterday at Lake Park. ⚡️- I’ve been working to get this stubborn 8XTE to drive as aggressive as my old 4.0 nitro truck, and I think I finally nailed it. Although I qualified seventh out of 14 trucks, my pace and consistency was right there with the front runners. I got punted to the rear on lap one (typical E-Truggy), but fought my way from 12th back up to sixth after seven minutes. It was a heck of a drive. ⛽️- Nitro Truggy is the best class ever, and my old-timey TLR 8IGHT 4.0 never disappoints. We had eight trucks enter for the day and I qualified forth behind some wicked quick guys. During warmups for the main, I had a shock shaft pull-out of the end, so I missed the start of the race while repairs were made. I hit the track about two minutes in and still finished sixth out of the seven trucks that raced. So much fun! This year I grew new potatoes in used coffee sacks from @shake_a_leg_jr along the fence line in a mix of compost and straw and although I'm aware the yield is larger in ground I'm still pretty stoked with how cute they were, the yield I got and how easy and delicious it all was. Final leek harvest yesterday. I'll be sowing more today though! 🌱 Cleaned and chopped these up. Will use some for a leek and potato soup for lunch today and the rest will be frozen using my new vacuum sealer. Looking forward to playing with my new toy! The good quality green leek tops have been chopped and put in the dehydrator and will be blended to make onion powder. When we got 24, about third of it was overgrown with rampant raspberry canes, most of which we removed to free up the space. Those remaining didn't thrive - possibly due to being neglected for so long, possibly due to the weather, so I decided to invest in some new ones for this year. After looking at A LOT of varieties, I decided on these from @thompsonmorgan1855 - 6 x "Glen Prosen" and 6 x "Joan J" which should give us a nice long harvest season. For good measure I added 12 x "Mount Everest" strawberries because I do love strawbs, and for some natural pest repellent some Tagetes Golden Gem seeds as I don't particularly like French marigolds (even though we will still grow some) as @stratfordgerald posted them still flowering in November, so they have to be good.
