A big happy 33rd birthday to my partner in all manner of things 🥳 Looking forward to our steak and chips lunch and a wee trip to the cinema 🎦 Not to make this post fitnessy but since I am in a fat loss phase right now I’ll be tracking my meal to be within my calories. I’ve Sussed out the menu, logged it already, and can fill up the remaining calories with the usual things that I eat. This is only just one approach to managing a social occasion while dieting. You very well may just say you know what, this is a very special occasion and I want to enjoy it fully. If you make that decision then fully own it. Enjoy that food. Relish in those social connections and bloody well have fun - you deserve it. Be honest with yourself and what YOU want out of the situation. It’s absolutely ok to be stricter with your goals, but equally it’s ok to allow yourself that freedom and flexibility. You may choose different options depending on the occasion. Both are equally ‘allowed’ in whatever phase you’re in. Just make sure it’s your decision 🤙🏼

Ik ben blij dat er progressie in zit door midd van meer bewegen. Sportschool is dus nog weinig maar ik ben wat weer wat meer bezig met voeding en ik probeer meer te lopen. Ik hoop snel onder de 85 te zitten en dan door te werken naar onder de 80. Ik weet dat ik onder de 80 al eens moeite mee heb gehad maar deze kilos gingen tot nu toe vrij snel. Zal ik ook weer cm gaan meten? ✨This morning I was nervous to step on the scales because I know if I hadn’t lost anything I would have felt so disheartened. I know it’s not about the number, but it is for someone like me that likes to see those numbers drop. I know this week I have eaten so well, nothing fatty like cake or a cheeky takeaway no crisps either. I have prepared my meals (note to self prepare more than one meal 🤣) it becomes hella boring by day three 😂 I have also set myself a goal of doing three exercises a week and for the rest of the week getting my 10K steps in daily and using the walking pad to top them up if needs be. I can honestly say and yes it’s early days I feel so much better and that’s a great start. Yes eating whatever you fancy and sticking to a calorie deficit is great I am not knocking that but for me it wasn’t helpful especially since hitting perimenopause and taking HRT I just wanted to comfort eat because I didn’t feel like myself. So that’s why I joined WW to try and help me be more accountable. So far so good 👍 Also if anyone would like to join WW and get three months free I can send you a friend request. Can stress and burnout cause you to be very ill? You better believe that it can. When we start developing diseases, that’s when it’s already too late. While some stress is good and propels us forward, when it gets overwhelming, it gets chronic and our body gets inflammed. Please do not think that small symptoms that our bodies are experiencing are normal, because the small ones can aggravate into bigger issues. When I was working in production, almost 80% of my colleagues has or has had issues of chronic gastric, migraines, anxiety, sleeping for less than 5hrs a day, missing meals, eating late night suppers etc etc. I was the same. So I thought, oh well everyone is going through it, it’s normal, that’s the nature of our job! It was just a vicious cycle. I was living on adrenaline everyday. The more stress and burnout I was, the more anxiety which affects the body which affects my emotions which affects my health and round and round it goes. It really is NOT normal. While work and responsibilities are important. Give yourself a little chance to take care of you too.
