A spoiled rich kid (Farrell) is sent to live on his own to prove he is capable of becoming a real man. On his way he will almost destroy Angie (Gaynor) the young woman he loves. Trying for another “Seventh Heaven” (1927) and needing the sure hand of Frank Borzage who was originally announced as Director, instead Raoul Walsh never known for Directing great romantic dramas was assigned. Too strong for this story, Gaynor and Farrell too had seen better vehicles. Behind the scenes Humphrey Bogart was assisting Farrell as a voice coach.
