I'll never be a famous photographer. I'll never be one of those people that has like any amount "k" on their social media because I honestly don't have the wherewithal to take trendy photographs. I got into photography because I wanted others to see how I see the world and to maybe feel what I feel. Start dialogue. Last of the winter cards! First one isn't particularly exciting and is I'm real with myself the quality of the picture is meh. Second card is for all you people that aren't tired of the Lions quite yet. This card is interesting because it was hand painted (horribly) before it was reproduced. I guess brown and green was all they had access to. It appears to be a real picture though, so that's kinda cool. Last card is a bunch of geese chilling on a frozen Lost Lagoon that I'm dedicating to my homeboy Gareth. (@ghostsigns_etcetera ) He posted a video of geese the other day in his stories and it was a time-lapse that made me laugh. Pretty sure these geese are long dead as the card is dated 1992. I have been hearing the legend of @superfluxbeer for a number of years and yet I have only had the chance to sample beers in a collaboration effort. Superflux Brewing Company, located in Yeast Van quadrant aka East Vancouver, British Columbia, has been brewing and selling their popular craft beers since 2015. In 2020 Superflux finally opened it's doors to the public in which lines formed around the block and are known for there hoppy IPA brews. While out on a beer hunt over the Canadian Thanksgiving I stumbled across COLOR & SHAPE, a American IPA. This pours a super hazy pale orange color with a foamy white head. This almost has a milky appearance. Aroma's you get big tropical fruits presence with orange and mango leading the way with some hints of citrus. Taste you have pineapple and citrus which gives way for mango and passionfruit. Smooth and very fruity with barely any bitterness or sweetness! Final Girl is a 2015 American Action Horror/Thriller movie. ⚠️ mild violence. After her parents died, 5yo Veronica meets William. He takes her in and trains her for an important that only "special" people are good for. 12 years later, Veronica prepares to finish her training. 4 teenage boys, Jameson, Daniel, Nelson, and Shane scope out the diner for their next prey. They take her to the woods, hunt her down and murders her. Things do get a little weird when Veronica asks to lay next to Will, in just a towel and tries to engage in some hanky spanky but it doesn't happen. Next we see Will inject Veronica with a combo of truth serum and a hallucinogen to help confront her greatest fear so she can understand what her victims are experiencing. While doing recon, Veronica meets Shane's girlfriend Jennifer. Both girls talk about boy trouble, Veronica and her crush on Will, knowing he's emotionally unavailable not to mention the age difference. Jameson, who has a thing for blondes and is pretty controlling, meets Veronica at the diner. She uses herself as bait and accepts the date with Jameson. They boys pick her up and take her to the woods. Nelson has a very interesting relationship with his mom that seems questionable. They play a game of truth or dare, she offers 3 of them a flask of whiskey from her purse; the truth serum cocktail. They give her 5mins to run before they hunt her down. The drugs take effect in Daniel who sees two panda heads in suits coming after hun. Veronica does kill him with his axe. Nelson is next and he sees a group of faceless thugs circling him. He then sees his mom and the two share a deep kiss before Veronica kills him with a rock. Jennifer shows up to the woods to find Shanr. She meets Jameson instead and they talk. Apparently the two had a past relationship. Jennifer refuses him at first but she gives in and they kiss and are found by Shane. The truth is revealed to Jenn that they hint girls for fun. Shane is next. His worst fear is his girlfriend cheating on him with Jameson. Shane thinks he's choking Jenn but he's fighting Veronica. Jameson is the last one. They both play a game of 20 questions. Jameson proposes they join forces.

“The Wall for Women” - a giant mural on the north-eastern side of the Hyatt Regency Hotel at 655 Burrard Street, Vancouver that was created in March 2021 at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. The work of the Montreal-based artist Ola Volo, the 13-metre high artwork contains a stark message about intimate partner violence in Canada. Depicting a queen rising with newfound strength, the mural is meant to be a symbol of hope for women experiencing abuse and aims to raise awareness about gender-based violence during the pandemic. The mural is also interactive with five hidden phone-activated statistics. Ola Volo began painting the mural on International Women’s Day, 2021 with the help of volunteers. “I have painted a lot of murals, but this was the first time integrating QR codes within my art. This image shows the upper section of a door that was commissioned for a private home in West Vancouver and was in place there for nearly 30 years. The signature at the base of the door (not shown) reads: Designer Bill Reid - Carver James Hart,1980. The design depicts the story of Nanasimgit and his wife, who was kidnapped by a supernatural killer whale. After overcoming a number of challenges, Nanasimgit was able to rescue her from under the sea. Bill Reid explained: “It’s a rather obscure design... The door knob is positioned in the spout hole... The killer whale's eye is the big ovoid below the knob. The body is represented by two parallel curved lines flanking the figure of Nanasimgit's wife, who is identifiable as a woman by the labret in her lower lip. The flukes are at the top, with Nanasimgit peering between them... I have a few of these fold out postcard booklets. This one is postmarked 1948 and is one of the first ones I ever collected. I think someone harvested the stamp off of it already. A lot of the contents were made into postcards or vice versa and are in my collection already. The view I am posting is Hastings looking west towards the Marine Building. This is definitely the 1940's and you can tell by the cars and even the details in the clothing on the pedestrians, it's kinda wild. I'm all about this planetarium postcard at dusk tonight. It reminds me of summer time with friends going to laser shows. That's what the air outside feels like right now. It feels like the air outside the planetarium; we just got out of laser Offspring and it was fabulous. The sky is dark and we're in Vancouver and now we need to take the bus back to the Skytrain to take us back to the suburbs in the Surrey. Someone has a disposable camera so we take pictures in front of the big giant crab before we pick up our backpacks and head home. Here's today's card. It's a corner you all know if you live in @cityofvancouver or are a frequent visitor. It's the Hudson's Bay Company at the corner of Granville & Georgia. This building was iconic for me growing up because it signified that we made it downtown from the suburbs of Surrey and now we could relax a little, get into a little trouble, maybe smoke a few extra duMauriers that we tried so hard to get a boot for. It was where the action was, at least for me and my friends. This post is 100% for me. (You're just along for the ride - I got that Seabus special for you!) Today is payday, and every payday I redo my budget and see what is feasible to save for the next pay period to go towards moving home. Last pay period I saved over a grand. It's certainly not the norm but it's a testament to what I can do when I put my mind to something. Everyday the sun comes up, it comes up on dreams, failures, things you wish you did, things you still can do. Things you knew, things you don't know. When I was going through my albums this morning that's what struck me about this card, this is the Vancouver I KNOW, not what I'm coming back to. I'm relying on what I see, in all of the photos, in all of the accounts I follow, to help catch me up to speed. Two days at the beginning of this month was not enough time to get caught up but I will tell you that it was enough to light a beautiful fire. When I was home for my birthday a couple of weeks ago, I wanted to buy myself a gift. I love jewelry. I was walking around downtown in the pouring rain with my friend @cyber_cupcake and trying to explain what I wanted and how it needed to just jump out at me. She suggested that we go into @bluerubyjewellery because they had a mix of designers. She came across this local designer @pyrrhajewelry that she was familiar with and we were looking at what they had. I found a beautiful ring with a heart. If you know me, you know I love hearts. I love hearts, and love and... *sigh* I tried it on and it was too small. I was pretty disappointed because it was perfect. As the universe would have it, they had a larger size, and when I found out what the talisman meant, we both said out loud in unison, "It's perfect!" Vancouver is imprinted on my heart and like my stepmother said, the ring fits only on my ring finger, it's like I'm married to the city. . . .
