'Call me a cab, I'm going to suicide' by Vinny Montag, 2012. The original piece featured a very tall strong female figure dressed in pink, wearing a wide brimmed hat. Looked like she was about to jump off the cliff. Someone thought she'd make a great cake decoration (you know who you are!). She escaped the icing sugar but later went missing at a party. Since then a tree has replaced her, held securely in place by a safety measure (red clothes peg) and optional Parisian tightropes. The driver still hasn't been identified. “Chocos Fritos” is an artistic experiment started by Vinny Montag & Kimvi Nguyen in December 2019. This experiment seeks to create new narratives about the cuttlefish (Sepia Officinalis) and Cadiz by using different formats and techniques. The nature of this project revolves around the Absurd and Speculative Fiction. For the first stage of their project, Vinny & Kimvi made a series of sculptures, photographs and photo-montage, using pieces of fresh cuttlefish and building with them “choco-architectures" that belong in a fictitious world where Cadiz is in fact built on top of a giant cuttlefish. With their “Chocos Fritos” Project, @vinny_montag & @kimvi_nguyen are the first two artists to launch our own SYMBIONTS #1 Project, a collaborative project that brings together an artist in residence with a local artist or creator to experiment and create an original piece of work. ------------------------------------------ “Chocos Fritos” es un experimento artístico iniciado por Vinny Montag y Kimvi Nguyen en diciembre de 2019.
