A circa 70 km a nord di Bangkok, nel cuore della Thailandia, troviamo Ayutthaya, chiamata anche “Capitale dei Templi”. Uno dei più importanti di tutta la città è il Wat Mahathat, famoso per la “Buddha Head” che si trova al suo interno. Questa testa di Buddha è circondata da un albero di Banyan, ma nessuno sa come sia finita intrecciata nelle radici del maestoso albero. Le ipotesi più ricorrenti sono due: ▪️La prima racconta che quando i Birmani invasero Ayutthaya, decapitarono le statue e saccheggiarono la zona, abbandonando la testa del Buddha. Successivamente l’albero le crebbe attorno. ▪️La seconda narra che l’albero in questione non è un albero normale, ma bensì un “Ficus Religiosa”, pianta sacra per Induisti e Buddisti. Si pensa che fu proprio sotto l’ombra di uno di questi alberi che Siddartha raggiunse l’illuminazione convertendosi in Buddha. Secondo la leggenda quindi, le radici dell’albero della vita avvolsero la testa come forma di unione per mantenerla intatta. Erewan Waterfalls 🇹🇭 Kanchanaburi One of the most popular waterfalls in Thailand and easy to see why, with turquoise coloured pools and stunning falls cascading through the lush jungle. Around 50km north of Kanchanburi Town and in Erewan National Park, the waterfalls consist of 7 main tiers with a 2km hike to the top level (better to get there early to avoid the heat and crowds). Most of the trek is fairly easy (but quite a few steps!), just towards the top there is a bit more scrambling over rocks. You can swim in the pools at several tiers but have to hire a life jacket (20 THB) and there are park rangers at each tier. There were lots of people stopping at each level on the way up but we headed straight to the top and it was much quieter. ..【 ワット プラ ヤイ Wat Phra Yai 】 (Pattaya Thailand🇹🇭) . comtam_japanは、 タイのパタヤへやってまいりました😊✌️ タイは微笑みの国 現地の人はみんな笑顔でもてなしてくれ、 本当に気分の良い滞在が出来ます。 そして、 タイの宗教は90％以上が、仏教だそうで、 周辺には多くの寺院を目にします。 その寺院は･････ 「 The 派手 」 と言う感じで、 キラキラと黄金に輝いています。 この時期は “夏” に該当するらしく、 連日、35°を超える猛暑で、うだる暑さのタイ🇹🇭。 春の生温か～い、気持ちいい日本から 移動してきたcomtam_japanにとって、 「 洗礼 」 を浴びた気分です。 パタヤで有名な、 ”PATTAYA”サイン。 ここを見に行きたくてGoogle mapを眺めている時、 見つけたのが、 “ワット プラ ヤイ” とてもカッコイイ写真がズラリと並んでました。 「 ここ ぜってえに行く！ 」 と、心に決めてた場所です。 ソンテウで、walking streetの周辺当りまで来ましたが、 ここからは山登りです。 真夏の山登りなど･････自●行為😅 「さて、どうする？」 近くにいた、何かのスタッフっぽい人に話しかけると、 バイクタクシーのところへ案内してくれました。 山のふもとから寺院まで、 150THB（約600円） 凄く近い距離ですが、山登りよりはぜんぜんマシです。 ノーヘルでGO！！！ 寺院到着 いきなり写真で見たアレだ！！ 天気も良くて、キラキラしてます。 写真を撮りまくって、大満足でした。 . #watphrayai #ワットプラヤイ #タイ寺院 #タイ #パタヤ #タイ旅行 #パタヤ旅行 #海外旅行 #thailand #pattaya #visitthailand #visitpattaya #travelthailand #travel

I finally get why people adore elephants… It’s not that I hate elephants.. I just didn’t get why people like them. They’re also super huge and a bit scary tbh… 😅. The I spent 15 minutes talking to an elephant, rather than swimming. Like actual words 👀. They might not have responded. But I get the sense that they listened a lot. They’re actually great listeners and it’s easy to relax with them. They’re a a few moments in Thailand that I get this, the listening.. the being still in the presence of something or someone. Usually when I’m in the countryside surrounded by mountains, and I guess surrounded by elephants. Wat Saket “The temple of the Golden Mount” The temple is located on the eastern side of Bangkok's historic center. Wat Saket is within a walking distance to Loha Prasart (Metal Castle) and a 5-minute walk from the Giant Swing and Wat Suthat, making all these wonderful historic sites easy to visit on the same day trip. Wat Saket is a Buddhist temple in Bangkok that dates back to the 19th century. Wat Saket stands out between the modern Bangkok and its skyscrapers. In fact, the Golden Mountain was the highest point in the city for centuries. Today Wat Saket is one of the main tourist attractions of Bangkok as it’s regarded as one of the most beautiful temples in Thai capital. Wat Saket is a highly revered temple as it preserves relics of the Buddha himself brought from India. These relics are understood to be here as a demonstration of the greatness of the Buddha. It is also the place where the Loy Krathong festival is celebrated every November, during which the temple is decorated with colored lanterns and a candlelit procession is performed up to the hill.
