26/03/24, TDM J284, Tanah Rata, Cameron Highlands, Malaisie 🇲🇾 Aujourd'hui c'était rando! Encore une belle sortie de ma zone de confort! Il faut dire que je ne partais pas confiante. Les avis sur Google disaient entre autres que c'était difficile, mal indiqué, et glissant par temps de pluie. Il avait plu la nuit d'avant. Bon. Contre toute attente, ce fut difficile, mal indiqué et glissant... Mais on l'a fait! (encore) Heureusement qu'on est tombé sur des locaux adorables qui nous ont indiqué un raccourci et comment rejoindre le début de la rando, caché entre 2 immeubles. Sinon, on le chercherait encore. Il s'agissait de monter une colline (certaines mauvaises langues diraient qu'on était plus proche de l'escalade que de la rando) puis de la redescendre par un autre chemin (certaines mauvaises langues diraient qu'on était plus proche du toboggan que de la rando). Le tout en 4h30, pause grignotage comprise. Facile. Au retour, j'avais vu sur internet qu'on finissait par 45 minutes de marche le long de la route, sans grand intérêt donc, sauf si on se faisait prendre en stop. Il ne m'en fallait pas plus pour lever le pouce. Après une attente de 2,5 secondes, la première voiture d'est arrêté. On s'est entassés à 6 dedans, tous contents! J'étais prête à remplir le formulaire d'inscription à Pékin Express! Mais le gentil monsieur nous a demandé des sous pour sa peine. Pékin express ne sera pas pour cette fois. Le soir, petit resto local où les dames ont voulu nous prendre en photo. Adorables ! Mais à 19h30, elles fermaient boutique, je me suis dépêchée de terminer mon assiette et on a quasiment roulé sous les volets roulants avant qu'ils ne se referment sur nous. Albuquerque & Santa Fe!! Route 66 runs right through the heart of Albuquerque so there is a lot throughout town in recognition of that. The largest city in NM, there is a lot to see, including pics 1-3 of Petroglyphs National Monument - with hundreds of carved rocks from 400-700 years ago by Native Americans and Spanish settlers. We drove up to Santa Fe for a day and really loved it. Incredible art community, architecture, charm, natural beauty. We spent the afternoon at the incredible @meow__wolf - (slides 4-8) we all had so much fun exploring all the themed rooms. A feast for all of your senses and an awesome immersive experience. Jour 219 à 220 - Bolivie vers Argentine On quitte Uyuni et son Salar, incroyable découverte ! Le passage frontière est complètement désordonné mais plutôt rapide. Camille retient l'attention des douanières argentines, comme à chaque fois et les yeux de Gauthier sont jalousés par les douaniers boliviens. Après une nuit au milieu de nul part c'est une journée de découverte qui nous attend : 📍 Hornocal et sa montagne aux 14 couleurs (il fallait bien concurrencer le Pérou). Le paysage est fantastique, en plus des couleurs, les formations géologiques sont impressionnantes. 📍 Pucara de Tilcara : ancienne nécropole inca (oui, ils sont descendus jusque là) reconstituée. Si les emplacements ont été respectés, les techniques quant a elles ne l'ont pas été, il faut donc visiter le site en s'imaginant une architecture autre que celle proposée. Mais le lieu est encore une fois splendide. 📍 Pumamarca : petit village au pied d'une montagne aux sept couleurs. Sur le papier ça donne envie, en réalité le village est un centre commercial à ciel ouvert. It is located a little over an hour north of White Sands National Park, in the town of Carrizozo, NM. We enjoyed a 6 day stay at the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) campground located within the park. The smallest house in Great Britain! I saw this red house in the distance whilst walking the town walls. Utterly fascinated with something that didn’t fit in, off we went for a closer look. Turns out the smallest house in Great Britain! £3.50 for me and the kids to take a look. So got the tickets and in we went. Short cd audio played whilst you experience the house and imagining people actually living in there! The lady hosting wash very kind to take pictures of ticket holders whilst you waited for previous visitors to leave. I really do love to try and experience as much as I can, no matter how big or small. Y sí, está en México, específicamente en Tlaxcala, en la extensión de la ex hacienda de Santa Águeda con una historia agrícola y ganadera 🐂 como caracteriza a esta región tlaxcalteca. A escasos minutos de Puebla y a un costado de la Autopista a la CDMX, no parecería que uno salga de viaje, pero la sensación al final es la de haber llegado a otro lugar y a otro tiempo 🕰. 📍En este enorme desarrollo turístico y comercial, lleno de tiendas, espectáculos 💃 🪗, galerías, restaurantes y bares puede uno pasar todo el día caminando entre sus callejones, túneles y plazas diseñados especialmente para recuperar la sensación del viejo mundo entre el bullicio local. We’ve been working on something behind the scenes. It’s taken a while to pull everything together to the point that we can share on here, but now it’s time! About a year ago Ryan and I read a book called @diewithzero Reading this book made us think a lot about how we have been doing life. Hustling away in jobs, running a business on the side, trying to grow side hustles. It’s been a lot of hustle. Alongside of this we have been raising two small boys, who are growing up way too fast. We started investing in property when our eldest was 3 months old. It’s been an amazing journey and had opened a lot of opportunities. It’s also often been really hard work doing it with a young family and for most of the time both of us working (Ryan’s worked full time the whole time). So we’ve decided it’s time to do something a bit different. In September this year we are jumping the ditch and heading over to Australia to spend 12 months travelling around in an off grid caravan. We’re so excited and can’t wait to share everything we are planning with all of you. We’re going to share where we are going, what we are doing, how we’re funding it and of course we will show you all of the fun stuff we are getting up to! We’re also going to start sharing regular videos over on YouTube of all of the trials and tribulations of moving our family to Aussie, packing up our house, figuring out how to homeschool and all of the other life admin. Life is for living, and we can’t wait to have an amazing time bonding with our family and making amazing memories. And we can’t wait to take you along on the journey with us! The most action-packed five days at Centreparcs 🐿🦌 Late nights at the beach, hours of swimming, lots of cycling, crazy golf, badminton, squash, teddy bear picnic, zipline and all the walks spotting deers and squirrels, it was all brilliant. We came home exhausted, bruised, and all wanting to go back. I so enjoyed the quiet moments of going out for cycles and spotting deers or seeing them outside the house at night. Evan having the best sleeps of his life after all the fresh air and exercise. Wandering around the streets of the Carcassonne cité is pretty cool. You can almost imagine what it was like hundreds of years ago - bustling with people, shops and restaurants. Probably less tourist junk but you get the idea 😅. People live and work in the old cité and there are numerous hotels and bnbs, so unlike other castles and historic sites we have visited the history feels alive in a different way. AD | It feels like ages since we've had a weekend away so we're all super excited to be staying at @wildroseholidaypark for a couple of nights! It took us a couple of hours to drive up from Manchester - the M6 was pretty kind to us. Check in was quick and easy and we were holed up in our cosy @willerbyltd Malton holiday home before we knew it. We brought a fridge full of groceries with us including a nice and easy microwave curry for tea. We're going to eat in the on site restaurant tomorrow 😋 Ben has dibsed his favourite spot in the living room - footstool and a stunning view, I don't think he plans to move 😂

PRIMAVERA/ESTATE 2024 - MAROCCO 🇲🇦🏴☠️ GIORNO 2️⃣0️⃣ Ieri sera ci siamo fermati a dormire in libera lungo l'autostrada N4, in uno spiazzale di ghiaia davanti ad un bel parco verde, a circa metà strada tra il villaggio di Bhalil e la città di Sefrou. Verso le 22.30 ci sentiamo bussare nel camper e apriamo le tende per controllare chi fosse... era la polizia! Apriamo la porta pensando che ci fossero venuti a dire che li non si potesse sostare e di spostarci. Invece ci hanno chiesto come stavamo e se pensavamo di fermarci a dormire lì. Gli abbiamo risposto di sì, se era possibile e loro ci hanno detto che non c'era nessun problema. Di stare tranquilli che all'ingrosso del parcheggio c'era un guardiano che ci hanno presentato. 🅿️🛣️👮🏽 Ci hanno detto che a poche decine di metri da lì, sull'autostrada, c'era un loro posto di blocco permanente, di conseguenza c'era sempre qualcuno e che per qualsisi problema di chiamare il 19, che è il numero della Polizia. Stamattina quando ci siamo svegliati abbiamo portato una tazzina di caffè al guardiano che era in dritto da tutta la notte, ci ha ringraziato molto e quando nel pomeriggio siamo ripassato di lì, ci ha salutato sbracciandosi sulla strada. Ma il viaggio doveva ancora regalarci il meglio delle giornata, partiamo per gradi. Il programma di oggi prevedeva di visitare in mattinata il curioso villaggio di Bhalil e nel pomeriggio le cascate di Sefrou. 🤝☕🗺️ Al nostro arrivo nel povero villaggio di Bhalil, veniamo subito notati e la nostra presenza cattura l'attenzione di Abderrahim, che per 5€ ci propone di farci da guida e portarci nelle tipiche abitazioni berbere scavate nella roccia. Queste abitazioni risalgono al IV secolo ma quello che ci ha lasciato a bocca aperta è stata l'ospitalità berbera. Questa famiglia ci ha accolto in casa loro, ci hanno offerto del thè con del pane appena sfornato servito con del pinzimonio fatto con dell'ottimo olio d'oliva. Non avendoci chiesto altri soldi, noi ci siamo sdebitati regalandogli alcune cose portate dall'Italia. Plaza de España, één van de mooiste pleinen die wij al zagen. Instant verliefd! 😍 Het halvemaanvormige plein is één van de bekendste pleinen van Sevilla. Laat je betoveren door de details van de bruggen en de gebouwen. Bekijk de 52 tegelmozaïeken die de verschillende provincies van Spanje voorstellen. Wij bezochten dit in de namiddag, het was redelijk druk en warm. Tijdens de zomerperiode raden we aan om dit plein te bezichtigen in de voormiddag of vooravond om de hitte (er is niet veel schaduw) en drukte (tijdens ons verblijf was het druk gezien Semana Santa en Feria de Abril uitgebreid gevierd worden in Sevilla) te voorkomen. Een leuke verrassing was dat we op het plein een gratis flamenco show konden meepikken 😊 Wie lekker romantisch wil doen, kan een bootje huren of een tocht met paard en koets doen. Om op dit plein te geraken wandelden we door Parque de Maria Luisa, een groene long in Sevilla en absolute aanrader om in te wandelen of fietsen. Familienurlaub auf Mauritius statt Winterblues! Bye, bye langweiliger Weihnachtsblues! Hallo Abenteuer! Auf Mauritius haben wir die Natur gegen den Spielplatz von nebenan getauscht. Spazieren gehen im Zuckerrohrfeld statt Klettern in den kahlen Laubbäumen. Wir sind im türkisfarbenen Meer geschnorchelt, statt im Hallenbad zu schwimmen und haben unsere Obstbäume kurzfristig gegen exotische Früchte wie Bananen, Litschis und Papayas eingetauscht. So verbringen wir bei unseren Reisen ans Meer gerne die Abende am Strand und lassen dort unsere aktiven Tage langsam ausklingen. Zu langsam darf man den Tag in Mauritius aber nicht ausklingen lassen, denn ist die Sonne mal weg, gehen die hungrigen nachtaktiven Mücken auf die Jagd.
