🐾 Vermont travels . Mom and dad booked us an awesome place at @uncommonaccommodations , a place called The Fox Den 🦊 it was super dog friendly, had a perfect view of the water and a bunch of room to run around and swim. . I got to run wild at @smugglersnotchvt , checked out their rum runners trail which lead us to a beautiful spot to check out the mountains and get some real swimming in. Water was cold but I loved it. . We visited @lostnationbrewing for some brews (for the humans of course), then @red_barn_ice_cream where I got my own personal ice-cream cone complete with dog bone. . We enjoyed a few meals at The Fox Den where I got to keep guard as the humans ate and enjoyed the outdoors. They even got some hot tub time , while that's not my thing, I hung out on the deck watching all the bicycles and people go by. . This is her new favorite spot and she speeds up when we’re close to the rock. 🪨 She loves to work her mind. In this case it’s “on, sit, wave, stay, off” - repeat. One of the biggest compliments you can give me is not about me, but about my dog. A park ranger stopped me today and said he’s been seeing us for the past year every morning and he can tell how focused we are on each other and asked where we train because he just got a puppy. He said he’s really impressed with us and hopes his golden is as good as Birdie someday. (Dock diving friends, she’s an asshole around water but I promise she doesn’t act like that in the absence of water😂) His comment literally made my week because I sometimes feel like I’m failing her when she has an off day. But humans have off days too. Today was a good day.
When I sit on this big rock, I get a piece of fresh chicken. I’m not sure what the big deal is, but I’ll jump “on and off” of it several times for chicken 😆
I introduced her to this rock yesterday, with the goal being to have her stand on it by the end of the week. She knocked it out of the park and stood on it the second time we encountered it today! And on the way back (not pictured) she sat on it!

Birdie is loving neighborhood watch duty at night. And I love having her on duty so I can sleep in this poorly placed front room. She just pokes her head through the curtains and watches. 👀
Birdie - during the eclipse 😂 I didn’t have glasses, so I couldn’t watch. We played outside and watched it get dark and cold for a minute.
We had a practice dock diving session @thegateddock this morning and she killed it. I lost track of the number of mid-air catches! Why can’t I throw like that during actual events? 😂 We also practiced hydrodash and she did pretty well. Still seems slightly confused as to why the bumper isn’t being thrown so we’re working on that. Phot of sleeping because it was just Marie and I at practice today so we don’t have any photos.
Birdie got mail from @americankennelclub She earned her Dock Master Title in dock diving last November (5 jumps between 20’-23’11”). She’s on her way to earning her Dock Master Advanced title which is 30 jumps in that range (she needs 7 more). We hope to earn it later this month! Mom “hid” all of my indoor balls on top of this shelf and I’ve been standing here roo’ing for 5 mins in the hopes that she will let me have them. She said something about “not until Tuesday when you’re healed.” I don’t know what she’s talking about because I feel fine. I just want the balls!

Birdie’s home resting now. The surgery went well and they are glad they went in when they did. There was a lot of fluid build up as well as the rug padding that she had swallowed (and some green beans from earlier in the day haha). As always, thanks to the entire team at @westparkah for your wonderful care and patience. She’s on strict rest for the next 2 weeks and sadly no dock diving for 8 more weeks. I’m feeling better than yesterday, but was a little curious this morning so mom put this donut (no pun intended) on me and I don’t like it.
I had surgery yesterday. It went well and I’m back home resting in my surgical suit (as long as mom is around). The donut goes back on when I’m in my crate. I’m very sleepy and not eating or drinking very much this morning. Mom is hoping I drink more soon. Thanks @westparkah & Dr Scott for taking such good care of me❤️🩹 I’ll be taking it easy for 10-14 days and will be back to dock diving in 8 weeks on March 19th (I have to miss 3 events 😞).
