Last night I experienced something magical. A visual concerto of photographic images timed to music. Artistic Director/Conductor, David Commanday, of the Heartland Festival Orchestra collaborated with Nicholas Bardonnay, a photographer, multimedia artist, and Creative Director & CEO of Westwater Arts, to create a spectacular season premiere called “Heartland Portraits.” In one of the pieces, Bardonnay curated works from 40 local photographers and timed them to Steve Heitzeg’s “Symphony to the Prairie Farm”. It was truly an inspiring composition. What a beautiful tribute to the landscape and people of the Heartland. A truly inspiring evening!
