### 🐔 Makeover Monday: The Great Chicken Roof Saga! 🎉 Happy April Fools' Day and welcome to a special Makeover Monday! Today, we're hatching a tale of roofing chaos turned triumph, with a twist only fit for the first of April. #### Before: A Roof Gone to the Birds Picture this: a roof so welcoming to our feathered friends, it became more of a chicken coop than a shelter. Leaks everywhere, creating indoor ponds, and chickens ruling the roost—literally. #### After: From Coop to Chic Fast forward to a sleek, secure, and utterly chicken-free roof. Our team waved their magic wands (or roofing tools) and transformed chaos into class. No leaks, no feathers, just impeccable roofing craftsmanship. ### Why Best Value Beats the Cheapest Bid On this day of pranks, let’s get serious for a moment about choosing a roofing contractor. Opting for the best value over the lowest bid can prevent your roofing project from turning into an unintended April Fools' joke: - **Quality and Price in Harmony**: The best value means excellent work at a fair price—no guessing game required. - **Durability Over Quick Fixes**: Choose a contractor that offers long-lasting solutions, not just a temporary patch-up. - **Invest in Your Home's Future**: A top-notch roof is an investment in your home's value and aesthetic appeal. ### Wrapping Up This Makeover Monday, remember that a good laugh is great, but when it comes to your roof, choose a contractor that provides quality, reliability, and value. Here's to a leak-free, chicken-free roof that's no joke 🐔💼 Contact us at 732-851-8028 or visit buff.ly/47RK20G for a roofing experience that sets a higher standard. 🏠🛠️ #HappyAprilFoolsDay #AprilFoolsDay #AprilFools #MakeoverMonday #ChimneyHats #Copper #HomeImprovement #CurbAppeal #QualityCraftsmanship #RoofingBestPractices #AuraHomeExteriors #NotAllProfessionalsAreEqual #WhyWeDoItWednesday #RoofingTips #HomeMaintenance #StarterShingles #RoofInstallation #DoItRight #Roof #Rooflife #NJHomeImprovements #ConstructionLife #HouseGoals #ExteriorDesign #Residential #AngisSuperServiceAward #AngiSuperService #Angi #njroofing #njsidingcontractor

🏡 **FAQ Friday: Does Homeowners Insurance Cover Roofing, Siding, or Windows Repair/Replacement?** 🏡 Welcome to FAQ Friday, where we address common questions about homeownership and insurance. Today's topic: Does homeowners insurance cover repair or replacement for roofing, siding, or windows? The short answer is: it depends. Homeowners insurance typically covers repair or replacement for roofing, siding, or windows under certain circumstances. Here are the top three reasons why: 1. **Covered Perils:** Homeowners insurance usually covers damage caused by specific perils outlined in your policy, such as storms, fire, vandalism, or falling objects. If your roofing, siding, or windows sustain damage due to a covered peril, your insurance may cover the cost of repair or replacement, minus your deductible. 2. **Extent of Damage:** Insurance coverage depends on the extent of the damage and whether it exceeds your deductible. Minor damage may not meet your deductible threshold, making it more cost-effective to pay for repairs out of pocket. However, significant damage that renders your home uninhabitable or compromises its structural integrity may be covered by your insurance policy. **Final Thoughts:** While homeowners insurance can provide financial protection for unexpected damage to your roofing, siding, or windows, it's crucial to review your policy carefully and understand its coverage limits, exclusions, and deductibles. Consider consulting with your insurance provider to clarify any uncertainties and ensure you have adequate coverage for your home's exterior components. 📌 **Tip Tuesday: The Advantages of TPO for Residential Roofing over Asphalt ** 📌 Welcome to Tip Tuesday, where we share insights to help you make informed decisions about your home. Today, let's explore the benefits of choosing Thermoplastic Polyolefin (TPO) for your residential flat roof over traditional asphalt roofing. **Why TPO Stands Out:** 🌞 **Energy Efficiency:** TPO roofing reflects sunlight rather than absorbing it, helping to reduce cooling costs during hot summer months. Its white surface minimizes heat buildup, keeping your home cooler and more comfortable. 💧 **Superior Waterproofing:** TPO is highly resistant to water, making it an excellent choice for flat roofs prone to pooling water. Its seams are heat-welded, creating a seamless barrier against leaks and water infiltration, enhancing the longevity of your roof. 🌬️ **Durability and Flexibility:** TPO roofs are known for their durability and ability to withstand harsh weather conditions, including high winds, hail, and UV exposure. Its flexibility allows for natural expansion and contraction, reducing the risk of cracking and damage over time. 🏡 **Aesthetically Pleasing:** TPO roofing offers a clean, modern aesthetic that can enhance the curb appeal of your home. Its smooth surface and white color lend a sleek look to residential properties, complementing a variety of architectural styles. **Making the Switch:** Considering the numerous benefits TPO roofing offers over traditional asphalt, it's clear why many homeowners are opting for this innovative solution. From energy savings and durability to environmental sustainability and aesthetic appeal, TPO roofing provides a compelling alternative for residential flat roofs. 🕰️ **Throwback Thursday: The Timeless Importance of Roofing Intake and Ventilation** 🕰️ Welcome to Throwback Thursday, where we revisit timeless principles that continue to shape the way we approach roofing today. Today, let's shine a spotlight on a fundamental aspect of roofing that stands the test of time: intake and ventilation. **Why Intake and Ventilation Matter:** 🌬️ **Proper Air Circulation:** Effective intake and ventilation systems allow for the continuous flow of air throughout your attic space. This circulation helps regulate temperature and moisture levels, preventing the buildup of heat and humidity that can lead to a host of issues, including mold growth and structural damage. 💨 **Mitigation of Heat Buildup:** During hot summer months, attics can become heat traps, reaching temperatures that far exceed those outside. Proper ventilation helps dissipate this excess heat, preventing it from radiating down into your living spaces and driving up cooling costs. 🌧️ **Prevention of Ice Dams and Condensation:** In colder climates, inadequate ventilation can contribute to the formation of ice dams, which can damage roofing materials and lead to leaks. Additionally, proper ventilation helps minimize condensation buildup in the attic, reducing the risk of moisture-related issues in the winter months. **The Timeless Importance:** While roofing techniques and materials may have evolved over the years, the significance of intake and ventilation remains constant. Whether you're installing a new roof or assessing the performance of an existing one, prioritizing proper ventilation is essential for ensuring the longevity, efficiency, and integrity of your home's roofing system. 🏠 **Why we do it Wednesday: The Importance of Starter Shingles in Roof Installation** Happy Wednesday, everyone! Today, let's delve into a crucial aspect of roofing installation that often goes unnoticed but plays a significant role in the longevity and durability of your roof: starter shingles. Today's images reveal an age-old shortcut employed by a contractor during shingle installation. Rather than utilizing the standard practice of employing a proper starter shingle to secure the roofing, they opted to expedite the process by simply flipping the shingle upside down, ostensibly saving time and money. However, the repercussions of this decision fall squarely on the customer, who is now left to contend with the aftermath. **Why Starter Shingles Matter:** 🔧 **Foundation for Your Roof:** Starter shingles act as the foundation for your roof's first row of shingles. They are installed along the eaves and rakes of the roof, providing a secure base for the rest of the shingles to adhere to. 🌧️ **Protection Against Water Damage:** One of the primary functions of starter shingles is to prevent water penetration at the eaves and rakes of the roof. Without proper starter shingles, water can seep underneath the first row of shingles, leading to leaks, moisture damage, and even mold growth. **The Bottom Line:** Investing in quality starter shingles is a small yet crucial step in ensuring the longevity and durability of your roof. By providing a solid foundation, preventing water damage, and enhancing wind resistance, starter shingles play a vital role in safeguarding your home against the elements. #whywedoitwednesday We all have a reason why we collect or admire certain watches be it style, history, investment value, brand or design. For me it's an escape...a mental therapy... Yes I'm kinda a one brand person atm (for a special reason). Having started not too long ago, having just a couple of everyday watches to a number that might frighten some. Yes, they can be an investment if you choose the right watch. Just like this #cwcwatch GS2000 RAF LE. Made in 2012 for the public market but quiet a sought after piece with some in collectors boxes or wearers wrists. Me? Another that could quadruple it's value if sold but NEVER! I collect AND WEAR THEM for a reason... Yet another from a special person who will be Forever a Shipmate 👊🐼🇬🇧 AND ANOTHER V GOOD FRIEND HAS THE SAME WATCH 1 DIGIT IN THE SERIAL LOWER 😳

🐾💛WHY WE DO IT WEDNESDAY!!💛🐾 MEET NANCY! 💛 Nancy has been volunteering with The London Sanctuary for several years. She has been transporting rescue dogs for almost 10 years and met Connie who was a transport coordinator for one of the transport organizations. Nancy did several transports over the years for TLS as the first leg for many of the dogs on their way to their new homes. Nancy now helps out at TLS by working on the applications with the virtual home visits and vet checks for the potential adopters. Nancy says “Home visits are really important to help determine if a potential adopter will be a good fit for the rescue dog. I treat each home visit as if I was interviewing them to leave my own dog with them. When I see that one of the dogs that I helped with the home visit is adopted, I am thankful that I was able to be a part of their happy ever after story!" "TLS always needs volunteers. You can help by sharing our rescue dogs on social media and coming to our rescue events. We always need new fosters as well so if you have room in your home and your heart, please consider fostering. It is officially "Why We Do It Wednesday" and we are pumped to give you a little insight on why we do what we do! Crystal Plaster is the owner and an agent at her very own State Farm agency in Cleburne, Texas. Crystal is a second generation State Farm Agent and has been in the industry for over twenty years! She started her own agency in 2001 and is proud to help people every single day for a living. When asked why she is so passionate about what she does, Crystal said, "Helping people on their best day: a new car, first home purchase, or heading into retirement is amazing. But, helping them on their worst day such as a home fire, teen driver wreck, or a loss of a spouse is why I do what I do." #insuretexas #whywedoitwednesday #whywedoit

WHY WE DO IT WEDNESDAY! We could not survive without fosters and we could not survive without faithful volunteers, like TERI! Teri has been with The London Sanctuary for several years and is one of our board members. She and Connie became fast friends while working together at another rescue in Jacksonville more than 10 plus years ago. When Connie started working with Jay and TLS, Teri was invited to help them grow and found her love for hounds. She helped TLS grow from a few dogs and people to many! She now helps with transports of dogs to the vet or to events, works our applications and home visits, and helps coordinate our adoption events. Teri says “I still love working for TLS. Some of the dogs that I helped with transporting them or helped with something regarding their adoption. I’m still friends with their adoptive parents and love to see the grow up. Some of my personal favorites are Boomer and a cute Westie named Finley we had adopted as a TLS Hound. I wouldn’t change it for the world. Love TLS and the rescues and people involved that make it happen.” Teri has several rescue dogs herself, 9 currently, and has had several over the years that have crossed the rainbow bridge. You will see her at every event with her baby Fiona that always come dressed to the nines. THANK YOU, TERI! You help make our rescue successful and we are so grateful! **❤WHY WE DO IT WEDNESDAY ❤** 🎤🎤VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT🎤🎤 INTRODUCING JEANETTE!! Jeanette is our Volunteer Coordinator and does so much for TLS to ensure we have coverage at events. She has recruited many repeat volunteers and herself volunteers at most events. Jeanette also helps with sharing our posts and collecting donations around the Jacksonville area. Thank you for all you do Jeanette! Now some words from Jeanette about "why she does what she does"!! 🥰🐾🐾 I volunteer because my husband won't let us foster- he's afraid we'll be foster fails, and he's probably correct! Volunteering with TLS at events gives me the opportunity to love on the houndies that are up for adoption and show them off to their best advantage as the sweet, loving, family pups that they are. Our Amelia, adopted from TLS in 2021, is even good with our senior cat! Hounds make wonderful pets! THE LONDON SANCTUARY always needs volunteers, fosters, and supporters - without everyone's help, we would not be able to do what we do. ** WHY WE DO IT WEDNESDAY!** THIS WEEK, we are spotlighting building and supporting our community! Want to hear about how the community helped our adoptable PAW PATROL PUPPIES? The Paw Patrol pups have had a long journey. They were surrendered to Jax Animal Care and Protective Services around 8 weeks old. ACPS was able to provide initial care, including spay and neuter. ACPS was (and still is) full and reached out to TLS as these pups are hounds and we happily accepted them into our care and finished out their vetting schedule. TLS fostered these pups until they were old enough to be adopted and started to socialize them. One of our favorites ways to do that is by visiting our locally owned @brewhound BrewHound Dog Park + Bar where Lauren Wyckoff has held events to support many local rescues and allows TLS foster dogs to socialize! We also get to take some great videos and pictures to help get them adopted. Brewhound also supports local by hosting Pet Wants Jax Beach! @thepetfoodtruck We have had many foster dogs meet the Pet Wants crew and they are always so gracious and happy to give the pups a sample. This week Nick Saam reached out and donated 1000 treats from GivePet to TLS and guess who was happy to accept? Chase and Zuma from the Paw Patrol litter! Thank you Pet Wants and GivePet!! GivePet provides treats for rescue pets for every 100 bags Pet Wants sells. These pups have been around town for sure and provided so many smiles and kisses. TLS is proud to support and grow our community and appreciates all those that give back so much. #WhyWeDoItWednesday #thelondonsanctuary #adoptdontshop #communitycounts #makeadifference #workingtogether #givepet

📣📣URGENT NEED FOR FOSTERS!!!📣📣 TLS URGENTLY NEEDS FOSTERS! Shelters are overflowing and TLS is unable to help because we simply do not have enough fosters. Throughout the state, shelters are having to euthanize dogs due to lack of capacity. Making things worse, adoptions are slow this time of year so we are not able to place hounds as quickly as other times of the year. WE NEED YOUR HELP! If you have ever thought of fostering, this would be THE TIME TO APPLY! 🙏We have PUPPIES 🐾🐾to SENIORS 🐾🐾needing immediate foster - let us know your preferences in your application and we will make sure we have a good match. 🥰Many of our hounds waiting for foster are housetrained and crate-trained. We even have a few cat friendly hounds needing foster and many that are dog friendly and kid friendly. If you live in NE Florida and are willing to foster with TLS, we pay for your foster's food, heartworm prevention, medications, and basic needs for your foster. We ask that you come to one event a month (located in NE Fla as well) and be willing to bring your foster to the vet if needed. We work together as a team so our fosters help each other out for appointments/events. You will have a solid network of assistance if you have questions. Fostering is so rewarding and you will know you are helping save hound lives by making space for us to help other hounds. If you have any questions about fostering, please message us! For our #WhyWeDoItWednesday we next have Aarush from our New Jersey #GreenAmendment movement. "I am a youth activist, and I support the Green Amendment movement. No one should have to go through each day worrying about whether the planet, something that has endured for billions of years before us, will continue to support our lives, yet that is a reality that too many people have become familiar with. It's time for us to step up and do something for the planet that has given so much to us. The Green Amendment gives the ordinary person the tools to create environmental change for the better, especially for marginalized communities that have had little say in the past as their well-being was repeatedly sacrificed by big business. Everyone should be entitled to such basic rights as clean air, clean water, and a healthy environment. Will you support our mission to ensure that everyone has a voice?" - Aarush, #NewJersey

Repost from a few years ago for #whywedoitwednesday - why I post yoga pix on Instagram. . . For me, yoga has been critical to my return to a healthy, active lifestyle. I share my practice mainly through Instagram yoga challenges sponsored by a wonderful, supportive IG yoga community. I have made many online friends this way, especially other “middle-aged” women who have struggled with health challenges or are currently battling illness or disease, women who are working hard to restore or maintain their health. We encourage each other on a daily basis without judgement; we cheer each other on; we celebrate one another's new achievements. Also, I've had numerous friends and acquaintances who have health challenges and know of my back problems reach out to me to ask about starting yoga. In brief, I had back surgery (laminectomy & micro-discectomy) in 2012 for a ruptured disc (L5-S1) and I also have degenerative disc disease, arthritis, spinal stenosis and multiple disc extrusions and protrusions throughout my lumbar spine. I've been through a good bit of physical therapy and undergone numerous steroid injections (nerve root, SI joints, epidurals), and tried both a neurostimulator implant and a nerve ablation procedure after my surgery. (None of those are fun . . .) When we moved to KS in 2014, I made the decision that I could no longer work because sitting and traveling were just too painful. At that point, a close member of my family told me I was "basically an invalid." During our first year in KS, I had shingles and other health issues. I was miserable and in constant pain, and medical procedures and medication weren’t helping. So, in January of 2016 I started practicing yoga and walking 3-5 miles/day. I regained my health and found an awesome community of in-person and on-line friends. So I post yoga pictures because I feel whole, healthy, and happy again. #namaste #fiercecalm #yogasavedmylife

I’m starting a new thing! Sharing my why today and then other rep’s whys the following Wednesdays! So here’s Why I Do It! My why has actually changed. At first, i just loved the clothes and loved the idea of getting them paid for by selling them. I didn’t really think I’d have monetary benefit other than paying for my habit. That was my only goal at least. And once I tried ZYIA, I knew my TJ Maxx leggings weren’t gonna cut it anymore. So I decided what the heck, let’s try it! Now, I make a paycheck I’m proud of and have more independence and confidence than ever! I never would have imagined I’d also gain confidence and self worth along the way. I love the friendships I’ve made and this uplifting community is priceless. So now, I want to uplift other women. Women who are hard on themselves like I was/am. ❤️ Now my goal is to keep building my little side business (that I can do literally anywhere). I’ve literally built it on my own and I’m so so proud! There’s room for you too! 💕 #whyidoit #whywedoitwednesday #sidehustle #zyiaactive #forme

We love Why We Do It Wednesday! Today we are hearing from the fantastic Jennifer Jones, who has been with State Farm since 2006 and specifically our office for 2 1/2 years now. When asked why she enjoys working in insurance, Jennifer said, “I enjoy working with customers everyday to help them and to ensure they have a great experience. I love my job because I like being the person that goes to bat for our clients! Whether that be over their bill, a claim, or any other problem that may come up.”

It is officially “Why We Do It Wednesday” and we are excited to share a little inside knowledge on why we do what we do! Dennia Beard is the owner and an agent at State Farm Benton & Fordyce and has been with State Farm for almost 21 years. When asked why she is so passionate about what she does, Dennia said, “I really love helping people and working in a industry that gives me the opportunity to do that in many ways. Helping customers in their most difficult times in their lives is very hard to process at times, but is undoubtedly, the most rewarding part of my job. It doesn’t hurt that I get to work for the #1 company in the USA.😉”

#whywedoitwednesday There are so many factors to consider when building your veterinary team, and one that can’t be overlooked is the ability to communicate (and laugh) with your team. In central Kentucky we are fortunate to have access to numerous world class veterinarians and specialist, and our team at BTE Stables has worked hard to cultivate relationships with many. This allows us to work effectively with whatever vets you choose, as well as offer honest and experienced recommendations. We only seek to provide services in which we can offer better than expected expertise, care, and guidance, and would love to discuss if BTE Stables is right for your horse’s recovery. Dr. Monge and Laura of @hagyardequine were even willing to show “Sam” why he needed to stand still for his sales radiographs 😂

#whywedoitwednesday Why keep “babysitter” horses on the farm? Do they really improve layup results? We believe they do. “Sam” is on small paddock turnout recovering from minor surgery, and does not need to be engaging in the shenanigans the rest of the colts partake in (swipe to see how they feel about the cooler weather after the rain). Though he still runs and plays, “Sam” quickly follows Oliver’s lead and settles into grazing. Having a calm babysitter not only helps layup horses relax in turnout, it gives them crucial herd interactions. For a young growing horse, this helps reinforce “how to be a horse”, and for horses coming from the track it gives a gentle transition back into a herd dynamic. Not every horse is cut out to be a babysitter, and not every babysitter fits every situation. We have several babysitter options on the farm, but Oliver is our babysitting MVP❤️

#whywedoitwednesday What may look like a normal picture of a mare and foal enjoying the sunshine is so much more. This mare was given no chance of survival, just 18 months before this picture was taken (photo from spring 2019). Thanks to extraordinary efforts and world class veterinarians, she was able to recover and pass on her fighting spirit. Whether it’s consulting with a team of veterinarians, researching to aid in treatment plans, meticulously following treatment protocols, utilizing on site rehabilitation amenities, or anything else to keep your horse physically and mentally healthy during rehab, BTE Stables will treat your horse like our own. Through years of experience with layups and rehabilitation cases, both standard and far from it, the team at BTE Stables has the experience, knowledge, commitment, and professional team to give your horse its best chance. You can read more about Exposure and the lessons she taught in the Paulick Report “Lessons Horses” segment (link below). https://www.paulickreport.com/features/lesson-horses/lesson-horses-presented-by-john-deere-equine-discount-program-erin-okeefe-of-bte-stables-on-exposure/?fbclid=IwAR0iloK5d4dhDiZY9aVxBV8pmC97azWOmzIBGAgyahvp1asCMdzBk16dKjw

Proud mama alert! Steely Magnolia’s 3 year old filly by Bernardini broke her maiden today at @keeneland! #whywedoitwednesday Steely was purchased by BTE Stables out of the Keeneland November Sale. When creating our shortlist of prospective broodmares, we carefully assessed any current progeny, looking for foals that had yet to achieve their potential. We are thrilled to see A Thing of a Beauty making the splash we knew she could on the track, and can’t wait for her next start! If you are looking to build a broodmare band, or improve the quality of your mares, contact BTE Stables for bloodstock services and sales representation at [email protected]
