Abby and I both firmly believe in letting our partners fail. If I hand off a task to Drew and he drops the ball - I don’t swoop in. I let him figure it out and make it right and hopefully learn from the dropped ball. After all, he’s an adult. If he makes a mistake at work he most certainly figures it out and makes it right. Why should our household be any different? I know it’s not ideal. I know it can feel like “more work” to let them fail and have the ball dropped. AND, I know that if I want to feel well in my partnership and in my roles as a mom and a wife, I can’t keep all the household tasks to myself. I have been fighting with myself to put together motherhood mini sessions for weeks and have not been able to get myself to do it. These are something I've done every year, and it hasn't made sense to me why I've been struggling with them this year. It dawned on me last night......motherhood feels enough like a rat race and I want something .....more. I don't want to add to that rat race, so I'm not. I'm not offering motherhood minis this year. Mini sessions absolutely have their place, but I want to slow down, sink in and soak in it. So, from now until the end of May, all motherhood sessions will be discounted. These are full sessions, not a rushed shot list. My hope is to give you a small pocket of peace and play and a chance to catch your breath. These will be personalized, intentional and thoughtful.
