This was a wonderful night because first, AVD Murphy’s handler is very special to Lady and her sister. Five years ago, Murphy’s handler showed them what an Assistance Dog might do to help Lady’s sister. And that brought Lady and her sister to PADS, Lady as a volunteer and sister as a future PADS client 💛💙Second, you know I’ve been working on settling, I just get so darn excited around new people and dogs. Seperation anxiety started to hit around 18 months and really peaked at 19 months. Lots of hard crying at daycare and I couldn't even leave her at the usual crèche she's used to. Emotions run a lot stronger but the sweet moments were bountiful. We chat heaps at night and wow the language explosion! She started singing twinkle twinkle little stars and now sings different songs on a daily basis. Her social nature grows stronger and we spend a lot of time playing with her friends, one of whom she requests for constantly. She learned how to say grandpa and grandma and requests for grandma on the phone daily -mostly to play on the phone. When I got her the dollhouse, she had fun making little people sit because she loves to ask others to sit. Suddenly she wants to play driver in the car. With me working more, illness and lots of new transitions, there have been fewer practical life activities. I also have not rotated her toy shelf in more than a month but she does seem to keep going back to her toys. Less is more I guess. And now right at 20 months, the separation anxiety seems to have eased. I drop her off and not a single tear is shed...I am astounded. This is a different child to two weeks ago and she had missed a whole week and a half due to illness and yet..no tears. #18monthold #19monthsold
