Drucker Listening is the ability to accurately receive information, and adequately interpret messages for effective communication. If one lacks the ability to listen effectively, messages will easily be misunderstood, or even not be passed at all. So, if we must get the best out of every communication, we must be good and effective listeners. Listening is not only about hearing what is being said, but also what is not being said, it entails paying, and giving attention to the critical, but unworded aspects of communication. Presence, open mindedness, relaxed mind, attentiveness, calmness, and focus are the ingredients that make up for effective listening, and ultimately effective communication. During communication we can interpret a person's mood, approval, disapproval, enthusiasm, boredom, or irritation from their expressions, cadence of voice, and tone. A great deal of messages are being passed through these means, and this must be adequately understood. What do you hear? What is the universe telling you? What is the situations around you telling you? What is nature telling you? What is your head, heart, and mind telling you? What is God telling you? You may not be hearing loud audible, or small still voices, but something is being said, Are you listening?
