Ant might be one of my all-time favorite producers and it’s clear how he has been an Influence for many of the producers I really like. On this album he’s joined by Spice 1, Too $hort, Boots Riley, Rappin’ Don, Ant Diddley Dog, Pee Wee, Father Dom and Goldy. The pearl here is “Straight Hustlin’” with it’s crazy bass-line, crazy keys, dope talk-box and Ant Banks’ storytelling rap wrapping it all up. And that is also the track I have chosen for the mixtape, mixing it with Eightball & MJG’s “Pimp In My Own Rhyme” and Luniz’ “Live Your Life” feat Dru Down.
