When I lived in Rochester as a cub copy editor for the Post-Bulletin, the Chateau was an old movie house that had been shuttered for years. Then just before I left town it opened as a Barnes & Noble (hey it was the ‘90s) — but they had the foresight to preserve much of the amazing interior, which you can still see today in the Chateau’s new incarnation as a community arts center. I hope the old place has a long future ahead of it. I have photographed quite a few musicians over the past several years from rising stars to national acts, and local favorites. Some musicians enjoy the camera more than others and offer up smiles, craziness, masterful playing, and fun antics resulting in fantastic pictures. The guys pictured here are the cream of the crop.
