One more day until the opening of Coruscateđ This piece was one of the first paintings I shared online. It was inspired by the stark changes I felt in my community after returning home from school. Everything was so much more urbanized, groves were cut down, and I felt a weird sadness even though I craved newness. Do you believe in happy little accidents? ⨠This is a throwback from 2020, when I discovered marker art and created this piece for Matt's birthday. It is inspired by the things that we both love and experienced, the obvious one of course would be Bob Ross! Coruscate describes something reflecting bright flashes or sparkles, which is a theme among all worksâ a glimmer of newness, otherness, and distraction in mundane life. For this painting, I collaged objects, pertinent to my life at one point, which began collecting dust in the bottom of my bag. Owls two different ways in the style of urban contemporary. Both are mixed media. Ones an old one that you get to check out the layering process of a collage. Masking, then spraypaint, cut up some flyers and watercolour in some details and finish with some bold paintmarkers.
