Armenianness in struggle Having grown up among odars (foreigners in Armenian), I always thought about what it truly meant to be Armenian. I must confess — it has never felt easy. Sometimes, it even felt painful. But at the same time, being Armenian is a blessing. And despite everything that I have gone through recently, if I had the chance to chose my origin again, I would chose to be Armenian over and over again. Simply because I am unapologetically in love with my identity, culture, people and Homeland. These days, when everything national is being intentionally depreciated and devalued, a new hope for change is born in Armenia. While many are afraid to let that hope into their hearts, I will. I will, because I am tired of living in the constant state of appeasement, defeat and humiliation. I will, because I am tired of seeing how my Homeland is brought to its knees and handed over to the enemy piece by piece. I will, because I am tired of living with a stolen dignity, pride and victory. I will, because it is better to try and fail, rather than sit idly by, searching for another excuse for inaction. I will never cope with the loss of Artsakh. I will never forget and forgive this tragedy. My Homeland will be forever incomplete without it. With the loss of Artsakh I lost a part of myself and my identity irretrievably. Artsakh is my personal revenge. And this is why every time there is going to be a ray of hope for justice for Artsakh, I will be there. We come to life in the fires of the struggle, we live in the midst of the struggle and we die in the name of the struggle. Struggle for justice is running through our veins. Struggle and Homeland is what we owe to our past and future generations. And this is what it means to be Armenian to me. Our struggle continues. God is with us.

These are the values at the core of the struggle for the liberation of Artsakh. These are the values in the name of which generations of Artsakh Armenians withstood all kinds of hardships and deprivations for a sole reason — to live in their Homeland. And these are the values that are being contested, destroyed and stolen from us today. But our struggle for justice must continue, against all odds, because without it we are destined to lose ourselves, our identity, and our history forever. The words of Ruben Vardanyan, the former state minister of Artsakh currently held in the Azerbaijani captivity illegally, don’t leave my mind lately: “values and principles are more important than even life itself”. And I cannot agree more with it.

Today marks the 109th anniversary of The Armenian Genocide. • The 1st picture is my great grandmother and my grandfather in Aleppo after being the only two members of the entire family to survive. After seeing his people systematically killed, my grandfather went to MIT and worked for the Defense Department to be part of the team that pioneered anti-missile missiles. He did this with the hope that this would ensure his people would never be harmed the way they were in 1915 again. • 2nd picture is myself in 2016 after performing my song “1915” outside The White House. I created that song to honor my grandfather and to tell the story of so many other Armenians like him who lost so much, and yet accomplished such great things despite it. I’m blessed to say that “1915” is being used in many high school and college curricula to help educate students about this important page of history. • 3rd is an expert of the song. The lyrics call for the acknowledgment of this crime against humanity and to hold the perpetrator accountable. We are few, but we are Armenian 🇦🇲 As a kid when I first saw Neghuts Monastery in Armenia 2009, I always remembered this particular moment from my trip - upset that it had collapsed and was abandoned… abandoned just like my homeland, with the world throwing a blind eye towards the crimes we still face today. This small cross I found here was a glimmer of hope that one day things will get better in Armenia. This long-standing 10th-century church is symbolistic of us - that no matter what destruction we face as the first Christian nation, when we fall, we always get back up. We survive, we live on, we continue to learn, we continue to grow, we continue to build - build our communities, our homes, our churches - 109 years onwards 109 years of commemorating the 1.5 million Armenian, Greek & Assyrian lives lost since the 1915 Armenian Genocide. 109 years on and many innocent Armenians still being slaughtered and displaced forcefully from their homes by Turkish and Azeri savages. 109 years onwards without recognition, 109 years without justice yet 109 years with courage and resilience. Posted @withregram • @chatergenealogy This is an incredibly rare image of Reverend Vazken Stepanian, deep in thought as he draws a draft of his blueprint of the monument for the Martyrs of the Armenian Genocide. Within his first year after being ordained as reverend in 1964 he felt compelled to create a lasting memorial for the 50th anniversary of the atrocities in 1965. Here, he is pictured inside the Armenian Holy Nazareth Church, Calcutta where he lived. Although he was stationed there for only a short period, he was able to oversee the completion of the tribute he had designed. The monument was erected in the grounds immediately adjacent to the entrance of the St. Nazareth church where it stands today. As always, I am indebted to Rev. This is an incredibly rare image of Reverend Vazken Stepanian, deep in thought as he draws a draft of his blueprint of the monument for the Martyrs of the Armenian Genocide. Within his first year after being ordained as reverend in 1964 he felt compelled to create a lasting memorial for the 50th anniversary of the atrocities in 1965. Here, he is pictured inside the Armenian Holy Nazareth Church, Calcutta where he lived. Although he was stationed there for only a short period, he was able to oversee the completion of the tribute he had designed. The monument was erected in the grounds immediately adjacent to the entrance of the St. Nazareth church where it stands today. As always, I am indebted to Rev. Last week, the Center for Truth and Justice (CTFJ) submitted evidence to the International Criminal Court, arguing that Azerbaijan is committing an ongoing genocide against ethnic Armenians. In their filing, the human rights organization says there is sufficient evidence to open a formal investigation into the Azeri regime for Genocide. This request comes amid two weeks of proceedings between Armenia and Azerbaijan at another global court in The Hague. 🏔️📦🇦🇲⛑️ An update on our humanitarian aid mission of April 7! Our initial plan was to deliver aid to Khoznavar and Vaghatur villages. While our team members, led by operations lead @hovhannes_verdyan were on the road, they received the unfortunate news that the enemy was targeting civilian cars as they were shooting in the border village days prior 💥🚗. Therefore, our team had to change course at the last minute and instead distribute aid in Kornidzor. Out of the 38 aid packages we had prepared (24 for big families and 14 for small), we distributed 37 to families in Kornidzor. We left one package in Kornidzor for one of the families from Vaghatur village to pick up the next day, per their request. The original beneficiary families in Khoznavar and Vaghatur have been assured that their distribution has not been cancelled, but that it will be completed as soon as it is safe to do so. Thank you to our brave team members for their commitment to helping vulnerable families despite the danger on the ground, and thank you to all our generous donors who make work this possible! Despite efforts from Azerbaijan and Turkey to hamper ongoing talks, the European Union and the United States are forging firmer ties with Armenia as it fights for its survival.
