The third album from one of my heroes and one of his best (I can't decide between Safe+Sound & Rhythm Al Ism) Quik's Death Row period with Suge Knight as executive producer. For me the one of the best hiphop diss with the famous "Dollaz +Sense" against MC Eiht. Always this memory when Quik raps the song in front of Eiht while watching him at the 95' Source Awards. Paid the Cost by Penthouse Players Clique was released 30 years ago today in 1992 and was the final drop in an insane 14 month run of debut albums by DJ Quik & affiliated artists. PPC was originally Playa Hamm, Tweed Cadillac and DJ Quik ("They Don't Know" b/w "Droppen Bombs", Alias Records, 1990,) but with label, contract and other issues, all three had their sights set on solo pursuits and the album essentially became a Playa Hamm project featuring Tweed Cadillac produced by DJ Quik.
