What’s this? A movie. And a sucker of a movie too. Yep I’ve got this 2011 #zacsnyder flop of a movie on DVD. And I’ll explain why… But let me start by saying this movie is unique in its wrongness. Even can like it for that. And okay the visuals are great. Beautiful though utterly empty. How is it possible to have such an ambitious idea, and an in itself creative layered concept, opening great possibilities to build four action worlds in visualizing the protagonists dreams, plus such a cast of beautiful women, and ending up with the most unthrilling boring and non sensual movie you can imagine. Disastrous for a movie that’s meant to be a sensual action thriller. More over the concept of women empowerment is embarrassingly wrong portrayed from the view of a masculine male film maker trying to make a wet dream of a movie for 13 year old boys. Yet there’s the music! Now we come to it. This is why I bought the DVD! Musical director is #mariusdevries, yep he who worked with #bazluhrmann on brilliant soundtracks such as #romeoandjuliet and #moulinrouge. Here he does the same thing! It’s such an exuberant mix of reworked versions of some of the most famous songs of the last 50 years, such as #sweetdreams, #whiterabbit, #wewillrockyou, #iwantitall, #tomorrowneverknows, #loveisthedrug. Plus there’s #bjork and #skunkanansie, together (!) bringing a mix of #armyofme. The female lead role #emilybrowning singing this intense slightly #triphop version of the #eurythmics song and doing it in a formidable way even being compared to #portishead. There’s a young #oscarisaac, playing the male lead role, bringing an outrageous version of the #roxymusic classic, together with appearing actress #carlagugino. A hiphop mix of the #queen songs, #yoav bringing a beautiful intimate take of #whereismymind and so does again Browning on #asleep, and #emilianatorrini singing White Rabbit. I like these strange and unique versions! Maybe should have bought the soundtrack in stead of the movie. Cos yeah though the film has very bad reviews, the soundtrack regarded highly. If you’re into daring new arrangements of classic tracks, interesting to dive into this soundtrack. .

Behind the Iron Curtain, Soviet premier Nikita Khrushchev is led into the private laboratory of Professor Vanko, aka The Crimson Dynamo, one of the world’s greatest experts on electricity. Vanko is dressed in an outlandish red suit that gives him the appearance of a “human dynamo”. Vanko provides a demonstration of the Crimson Dynamo’s powers by disintegrating a robotic replica of Iron Man, then remotely controlling a tank. He impresses Khrushchev greatly, despite concerns that Vanko is too diabolical and egotistical to trust. Khrushchev challenges the Crimson Dynamo to go to America and destroy Iron Man and sabotage Stark Industries’ defense efforts. 🤖🇷🇺 Two weeks later, near a missile test pad owned by Stark Industries, Pepper Potts, Happy Hogan and Tony Stark gather to watch the test launch. 🤖🇷🇺 “I am Professor Vanko, whom our leader calls “The Crimson Dynamo”!
