I've been waiting for the right time to release my originals. Why is it that we artists form attachments to our works so often? Maybe it's because we remember how we felt while we were creating them...or maybe it triggers a warm memory...or perhaps maybe a piece still sparks inspiration for you? For me I think it's a little of "all of the above" 🤭. Having them in my new upcoming little space just feels right. It's in my hometown were I grew up (did I just quote " Kinfolks"? SHE WAS BORN IN DECEMBER OF 1922... She grew up the daughter of dairy farmers. Her daddy also doubled as the town preacher. She was one of the most reverent women I've known... her Bible always cracked open on her lap. Her father part Irish and her mother part Cherokee ...she was absolutely stunning. She met my dad's father and had 4 children (my dad, number 3) before he sadly passed. My dad was very young. She later gave birth to my Uncle which made it five. One of my sweetest memories of color...her crystal dish always stocked with beautiful ribbon candies. She would let us have a couple. Oh how she LOVED her sweet treats and her honey. (A spoonful a day she would tell me) She once shared a story of her coming across some honeycomb on her parents farm. She ate that honey until it was no more. She giggled and said "Girl, that was THEE worst tummy ache I ever had". We laughed and laughed some more. She loved watching old westerns and adored John Wayne and gave one of her sons his middle name. I wanted to crawl into a hole when I revealed during one of our conversations that his birth given name was actually "Marion". She never knew...she was 95 when she found out. She loved Jack in the Box, but no mustard and "don't forget my Dr. Pepper" she'd say. She loved the color blue. She was a content woman in that love and family and her faith was always enough for her.
