Me 1st commemorated the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Interphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT) in Tlhabane, Rustenburg on Friday the 17th May by joining multitudes of organizations and UN agencies across the world reminding governments and its leaders of the commitment made to uphold all human rights for all people. Me1st understands that the realization of human rights for all people including the LGBTQI+ people is an integral part of achieving universal HIV prevention, treatment, care and support. Me1st stands with LGBTIQ+ people everywhere who are facing stigma, discrimination, and hate. 💚 You Are What You Eat 💚 If you eat food that is processed it in turn gives the little villages of good bacteria in your gut trouble from its bad neighbours. This feeds toxins into our systems which reeks havoc on our nuero-chemicals causing symptoms like anxiety, depression and a plethora of other symptoms and illnesses. It’s good to feed yourself whole foods and organic where you can. Watched #JenseitsDerStille/ #BeyondSilence (1996): A great conflict between blood relatives, but could have been more engrossing and tactical. Beyond Silence explores a great conflict between deaf parents and their music-loving daughter. The daughter wants to pursue a career in music (her instrument is the clarinet), but her parents can't hear, so it becomes difficult for her. Her main duty for her parents, which is to be their interpreter, somehow starts annoying her, and she begins to dislike her father. I remember watching a similar topic in #CODA recently, but the humour and comedy were far better there. Beyond Silence is mute in the comedy zone and deaf in humor. The plot lacks dramatic sequences and engrossing moments, which usually lift such dramas. Remember what #TheMiracleWorker did with those intense moments with a child? I was expecting something like that from this movie, but it fell flat there. The love story, arguments, and family disliking all seemed rushed. It's not a long film, but it still has many slow films, and I was happy to use the fast-forward button time and again. The screenplay could have been faster than this, especially when you have fewer dialogues and more subtitles to read. Maybe that's one of the reasons why the film doesn't have heavy dramatic sequences. For that, you need long monologues, and here, two of the main characters couldn't have those verbal conversations and arguments due to disability. Also, I feel that the climax was too typical for the 90s. Sylvie Testud and Tatjana Trieb play teenage and childhood Lara, respectively, and both have done a great job. Howie Seago was amazing, and Emmanuelle Laborit looked so cute. I had a feeling that Sibylle Canonica was turning out to be a good villain, and then there was a fine reformation in the ending. By the way, she was too beautiful to become a villain. Caroline Link's story might not be that good, but her direction skills were notably good. Overall, a fine flick on a challenging conflict, but couldn't see its own potential of becoming a path-breaking film. [Second Talk of Beyond Silence] On April 3rd, 2024, the SHC Health and Wellness Team hosted the second talk of their Beyond Silence initiative, focusing on depression. Dr. Chan Kai Tai, Clinical Associate Professor of the HKU Department of Psychiatry, led the discussion, alongside two residents who courageously shared their personal odysseys from diagnosis to recovery. 💪 The speakers explored various aspects of their experiences with depression, beliefs about its origins to treatments received, highlighting the crucial role of support from loved ones throughout the recovery journey. ’Hearo Ground‘는 ’hear‘(듣다)와 ’hero‘(영웅)의 합성어로, 청각 장애인들이 운동을 통해 자신의 한계를 극복하고 소리 없는 세상에서도 영웅이 될 수 있다는 의미를 담고 있습니다. 이 프로그램은 청각 장애 아동을 대상으로 하며, 소리 기반의 운동을 통해 청각 재활에 중점을 두고 있습니다. 청각 능력의 향상뿐만 아니라 전반적인 신체 건강을 개선하고 자신감을 높이는 것을 목표로 합니다. 이는 제가 지금까지 받은 관심과 사랑을 돌려주고자 하는 마음에서 출발하여 자라나는 아이들이 조금이라도 더 나은 삶을 영위 할 수 있도록 돕고자 합니다. 소리 없는 세상에서의 저의 언어치료와 재활경험을 바탕으로 수동적인 프로그램에서 벗어나, 운동을 통해 청각 재활을 더 효과적으로 진행할 방법을 모색하게 되었습니다. 이 과정에서 코클리어코리아의 물심양면의 지원에 깊은 감사를 표합니다. 앞으로 ‘Hearo Ground’와 함께 땀을 흘리며 소통하는 커뮤니티로서 많은 아이들이 성장할 수 있기를 기도합니다. ‘Hearo Ground’ is a compound word derived from ‘hear’ and ‘hero’, embodying the idea that individuals with hearing impairments can overcome their limitations through physical activity and become heroes in a silent world. . art4d x RT acoustic: ‘BEYOND SILENCE’ Design Competition หลังจากประกาศรายละเอียดของงานประกวดแบบ BEYOND SILENCE กันไปเรียบร้อยบนเว็บไซต์ art4d ทีม art4d และ RT acoustic ก็ออกเดินทางไปตามมหาวิทยาลัยต่างๆ ตั้งแต่เดือนตุลาคม 2566 เดินหน้าให้ความรู้เรื่องวัสดุ acoustic เปิดแรงบันดาลใจงานดีไซน์ เพื่อเชิญชวนให้นักศึกษาทุกคนมาร่วมส่งผลงานเข้าประกวดแบบ BEYOND SILENCE . BEYOND SILENCE คือการประกวดแบบจาก art4d และ RT acoustic ที่ชวนนักศึกษาระดับอุดมศึกษา ในสาขาเกี่ยวกับการออกแบบ หรือวิศวกรรมด้านเสียง มาสรรค์สร้างงานออกแบบที่แก้ปัญหามลภาวะทางเสียง โดยผลงานออกแบบต้องสร้างขึ้นจากวัสดุของ RT acoustic panel และก่อสร้างได้โดยใช้งบประมาณไม่เกิน 20,000 บาท (ไม่รวมค่าวัสดุจากแผ่น RT acoustic) . การบรรยายที่จัดขึ้นได้รับความร่วมมือเป็นอย่างดีจากเหล่าคณาจารย์และนักศึกษาทั้ง 8 สถาบันที่เราไปเยือน ได้แก่ สถาบันเทคโนโลยีพระจอมเกล้าเจ้าคุณทหารลาดกระบัง จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร มหาวิทยาลัยเทคโนโลยีราชมงคลธัญบุรี มหาวิทยาลัยเกษตรศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยศรีปทุม มหาวิทยาลัยรังสิต และมหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ . แน่นอนว่าเส้นทางทริปบรรยายให้ความรู้ของ art4d และ RT acoustic นั้นยังไม่สิ้นสุดลงเพียงเท่านี้ แต่จะเดินหน้าสู่ภูมิภาคอื่นๆ ต่อไป เพื่อแบ่งปันไอเดียการออกแบบ และรายละเอียดการประกวดแก่น้องๆ นักศึกษาที่สนใจเข้าร่วมอย่างจัดเต็ม . นักศึกษาคนไหนที่คันไม้คันมืออยากส่งผลงานมาร่วมประชัน ก็อย่ารอช้า อ่านรายละเอียดการสมัครและการส่งผลงานได้เลยที่เว็บไซต์ art4d _ Photo: Worapas Dusadeewijai @rtacoustic #BEYONDSILENCE #RTacoustic #designcompetition #acousticpanel #อุโฆษวิทยา #art4d

’Hearo Ground‘는 ’hear‘(듣다)와 ’hero‘(영웅)의 합성어로, 청각 장애인들이 운동을 통해 자신의 한계를 극복하고 소리 없는 세상에서도 영웅이 될 수 있다는 의미를 담고 있습니다. 이 프로그램은 청각 장애 아동을 대상으로 하며, 소리 기반의 운동을 통해 청각 재활에 중점을 두고 있습니다. 청각 능력의 향상뿐만 아니라 전반적인 신체 건강을 개선하고 자신감을 높이는 것을 목표로 합니다. 이는 제가 지금까지 받은 관심과 사랑을 돌려주고자 하는 마음에서 출발하여 자라나는 아이들이 조금이라도 더 나은 삶을 영위 할 수 있도록 돕고자 합니다. 소리 없는 세상에서의 저의 언어치료와 재활경험을 바탕으로 수동적인 프로그램에서 벗어나, 운동을 통해 청각 재활을 더 효과적으로 진행할 방법을 모색하게 되었습니다. 이 과정에서 코클리어코리아의 물심양면의 지원에 깊은 감사를 표합니다. 앞으로 ‘Hearo Ground’와 함께 땀을 흘리며 소통하는 커뮤니티로서 많은 아이들이 성장할 수 있기를 기도합니다. ‘Hearo Ground’ is a compound word derived from ‘hear’ and ‘hero’, embodying the idea that individuals with hearing impairments can overcome their limitations through physical activity and become heroes in a silent world. This program targets children with hearing disabilities, focusing on auditory rehabilitation through sound-based exercises. It aims not only to improve hearing abilities but also to enhance overall physical health and boost self-confidence. This initiative stems from my desire to give back the love and attention I have received, helping children lead better lives. Drawing from my own experiences with language therapy and rehabilitation in a silent world, I sought to move beyond passive programs and find more effective methods of auditory rehabilitation through exercise. I am deeply grateful for Cochlear Korea‘s generous support in this endeavor.
