Wednesday I went back to Blue Springs State Park, and went on the 2 hour nature cruise. It was amazing, the tour guide's voice and accent was just like Cathy Bates and she was spotting wildlife all over and readjusting the boat so everyone could get a chance to see! We saw a ton of gators, a variety of birds (Ibis, little blue herons, great blue herons, ospray, turkey, Sandhill cranes and more,) snakes and turtles! I was going to go to another wildlife park that afternoon but I loved it there so much that I stayed the whole day! Since the temps were cooler today, we took a quick trip to Blue Springs State Park where the Manatee come to find warmer water. The officials reported that there were almost 300 Manatee in the spring. Now that I live in Florida, exploring is my favourite thing to do! A few days ago we visited @bluespringstatepark for the first time and it was SO beautiful! I’ve also been told that during the winter months hundreds of manatees flock their to keep warm! So will definitely have to return to see that! It’s about a 40 minute drive outside the theme parks but definitely worth it if you want to do something a bit different on your vacation! . I know this is not a usual Disney post but I love living here and I want to share all my adventures and show just how beautiful Florida is!

It's World Wildlife Day, so lets talk about manatees. Manatees are beautiful huge marine mammals. They swim around very slowly eating sea grasses. They usually stay under water for 5 minutes, but can hold their breath for up to 20. Their numbers are falling. Why? Here are just a few reasons: 1) Water pollution Water pollution is killing the sea grasses that the manatees eat, causing them to starve to death. 2) Litter Manatees drown from being tangled in fishing nets and ropes. 3) Watercraft Manatees get fatally injured or killed from being run over by boats or being sliced by their propellers. Some ways we can help: 1) Use environment safe fertilizers, sprays, pesticides, etc. 2) Properly dispose of chemicals and garbage. 3) Clean up beaches, lakes, rivers, roads, forests-- any trash you see that doesn't belong, throw it away where it does belong. 4) If you are on a boat and you see a manatee, stop, or almost. Also, no wake zones don't just mean go slow. They mean NO wake (a tiny wake is still a wake). Even if you don't live by the water, doing these will still help manatees and other animals. This is their world, too.
