I have always wanted to visit this sanctuary because I heard that the Florida Scrubjays were very friendly! We got lucky because two came up to us to say Hi! The first one landed on the ground near where we were walking, then flew to the shrub next to us and stayed for a bit. As we walked through the trails to the lookout stand, we saw about 7-8 snakes, a few gopher tortoises, and a bunny who was not afraid of us. As soon as we walked up to the lookout stand, another Florida Scrubjay landed right next to Sean. He let me take a few pictures, then flew away. “Great Grapes”. Not only do some of the birds enjoy it when there is fruit at the feeding station, but the eastern grey squirrels, do too. This one is a young male who is fairly low in the pecking order. He frequently doesn’t get the fruit, but this afternoon no one else was around to run him off and he was definitely enjoying the grapes that were put out that day.

The bandits White tailed deers of John Chestnut park. I had to visit this beautiful place in Palm Harbor Florida where I heard that there’s multiple pairs of barred owls mating in the park. Without any research and sources, not a single barred owl was spotted. I started on the wrong trails as what Larry Feldman told me, a Tampa wildlife photographer that I met later that day. He gave me directions but it was too late.
