Oh hi! I know I've been MIA but here's why... Last Thursday was this little guys first day of preschool #somanyemotions Between broken sleep and lots of stress my immune system took a dump and I got sick. I haven't gotten sick for a while so this was kind of a shock to my system. I'm still coughing but I'm on the mend so I wanted to say hello👋 Today was day 2 of school. When I asked Mason if he wanted to wear his #diffuserbracelet he said yes. He picked frankincense out of the line up of calming oils. I added a drop to the lava beads and told him *if you get nervous you can smell your bracelet and remember mommy will pick you up soon.* This picture was not prompted! This is a real kid in a real moment feeling nervous and using the power of #essentialoils to calm those nerves! This past Wednesday was the scariest day so far for me as a Mommy. We’ve had this day in mind for awhile now. Our little guy Dickson had so much dental work done that he had to be fully sedated with an IV. The terror he was feeling upon entering the room was something I’ll never forget. He immediately knew and lost it. Held on to me with all he had and wouldn’t let go. My heart broke and I wanted to run like hell with him in my arms. 2 seconds later I snapped out of fight or flight mode and knew my job was to comfort him while helping the anesthesiologists get that gas mask on my son. Instead of using Velcro straps which is absolutely horrifying to me I was the Velcro. He inhaled that gas so fast and went limp. I’ve never second guessed anything more in my life. Prayed like heck in that waiting room until they called me back an hour and a half later. I pretty much ran to where he was laying and experienced the frightening moments to follow when your child’s sedation wears off. The dentist quickly debriefed me and sent me on my way with my baby boy basically convulsing & flailing in my arms uncontrollably screaming. The scene was devastating but one I had to endure. With all my faith I pressed on through the lobby, elevator, parking lot, and parking garage with a dental hygienist in tow carrying my sons cowboy boots. All I could think about was I hoped this didn’t somehow change my son forever & did I make the right decision. Fast forward a few hours and our little guy was back!! My whole world was so good again. This experience changed me & my son. I’ve got a deeper appreciation for all the things & he’s got a shiny grill that fits him perfectly 💙 .
