This time last year this was our morning. First day of pre school and feeling all the emotions. Excited, nervous, happy, scared. I remember making this diffuser bracelet for Mason and him being so excited to wear it. He was so excited to pick out his calming oils and be on our way. I remember seeing him in the rearview mirror as we waited in the drop-off line (without prompting) smell his bracelet for comfort. It made my heart so happy knowing he could bring his oils with him even if I wasn't there. Everything has been different about this year and Mason has taken it like a champ. He's gone from seeing friends and family to complete isolation. Being an only child to having a little brother. Enjoying school twice a week to not so successful zoom classes and now doing school at home with mommy. We were all set and excited to have Mason go to Pre-K and make new friends and learn and for me to be able to give Felix the attention that he needed without interruption. Things obviously aren't going as planned but that's okay. We make the best of it. We can still see some friends we just have to be careful and wear masks. We're still learning it's just sometimes interrupted by a hungry baby. We're still enjoying our essential oils but instead of lavender we often choose adaptive. We're all adjusting and we're all finding our ways to cope with these trying times. I'm so thankful to have my essential oils to help us through! Just when you think you know your kid... 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗 I needed a little inspiration so I asked Mason what color I should use. Expecting him to say blue which has been his favorite color for forever, you can imagine my confusion when he said pink. He then went on to tell me that pink has been his favorite color for a while and that he really really loves pink. He still likes blue but he loves pink! I certainly wasn't shocked that he had a new favorite color. Nor was a shocked that it was pink. In fact I'm proud that he can recognize shades, and that he is branching out and making decisions for himself. What I was shocked about was that he changed a favorite and I had no idea. It was like an "aha" moment of my kiddo is becoming his own person. I know it's only the beginning and yes I know it's only a color and that it will most likely change again but when you're a first time mama without a full time guide the little things like this feel amplified. I'll be swimming in pink for the rest of the day along with a few new supplies that came in yesterday!
