It has been brought to my attention that TODAY marks the 18th year since Jeremy and I decided to move to Stratford to begin running Bradshaws! Neither one of us had envisioned a career in retail… I used to work for @roots in the graphic design department and Jeremy worked as a set designer in Toronto’s crazy film industry. Our families were very surprised that we decided to sell our home and leave our jobs to relocate to Stratford to get into retail… Since we moved here and have become so involved in our business and community, we have never looked back… I clearly remember someone welcoming me to Stratford by saying ‘Congratulations… You’ve just added 10 more years to your life!’ We love the change we made to our lives and we love the people we work with every day who have very much become our work family. We have celebrated so many special events over the past 18 years together, as well as weathered some storms. I am so thankful to have these incredible people along with us on this retail roller coaster ride we are on. I did some quick math yesterday which revealed that our talented staff have over 204 combined years of experience at Bradshaws… Stephan 37 years, Kelly 35 years, Marie 25 years, Kathy 20 years, Carrie & Jeremy 18 years, Heather & Sarah 17 years, Christopher 8 years, Jody, Paige & Carole 6 years, Cassidy 4 years and Amanda and Emily 2 years! Many others along the way have contributed to the success of our family business- especially my mother-in -law Sharon and Father-In-law Bill who trusted us to take over what they had built.
