💙 CASTAWAY CAY 💙 Let’s talk about Disney’s Private Island - Castaway Cay! 🌊 They have a Family Beach & and Adults Only Beach, sparkling lagoons teeming with curious sea life, splash-worthy water play areas, scenic walking trails, open-air BBQ dining locations serving complimentary meals, 2 shops featuring Disney Castaway Cay gifts and souvenirs, free tram transportation around the island! Scuttle’s Cove is the Youth Activities Center - basically the Kids Club they have on the ship, same counselors and everything! The kids absolutely loved it there and wanted to stay there the whole time lol! They offer hamburgers, hot dogs, ribs, salads, fruit, cookies, chips, ice cream and more. ✅ Castaway 5K. You don't need to sign up. We are Castaways ☀️ Missing the sun soaked beaches of Disney’s Castaway Cay today! Disney’s private island in the Bahamas is an absolute dream of a destination, featuring crystal clear waters, tropical foliage and white sand beaches. It’s also known for the iconic Castaway Cay 5k track, which you can choose to run and be rewarded with a medal for. But we were like no thanks and decided to rent a bike instead. I have to say, cycling through the lush tropical landscape was truly a core memory that I’ll treasure forever. A fun fact about the island is that Disney are only permitted to build on 20% of it in order to maintain biodiversity, which I absolutely love! Would you cycle or run the Castaway Cay 5k track? Did you know most cruise lines have their own private islands and sail to them on select trips? I am lucky to have visited several cruise ship private islands and most recently Perfect Day at Coco Cay with Royal Caribbean and Castaway Cay with Disney Cruise Line. Both islands are very similar in that they are the same basic concept. There are family friendly beaches, activities, and excursions but there are also adult only areas. Both islands have food and drink options and lunch is included. But there are a few differences! ⛱Perfect Day at Coco Cay has some places that require a pass to get into them. On my last trip there in January we opted to buy passes for Coco Beach Club - a private beach with luxury service, food, drinks, and an infinity pool overlooking the ocean. ⛱Castaway Cay has only 3 beaches, 2 for families and 1 18+ beach. None of these beaches require a pass to get in and are free for all. ⛱As is normal for Disney you can meet characters on the island. The last time I was there I saw Mickey Mouse in his vacation gear, Goofy in his swim gear, and Captain Jack Sparrow! If that is something you are into - like me - I highly suggest a Disney Cruise!! Just got off the Disney Wish and all I can say is - WOW! ✨ There is truly no vacation like a Disney Cruise Line vacation, it is completely relaxing and full of so many magical moments. 🚢 A couple of you were curious about my experience with motion sickness issues (especially since I am expecting). I will say that the first day was a little hard to get used to and then the last day at sea was a little rough too. Nothing unbearable and I was still able to enjoy myself, but I could definitely feel the ship moving. The entire cast and crew on the ship were phenomenal, there was not one attention to detailed missed and they had the biggest smiles on their face every time we saw them. I will go into more details later because I have so much to post, but I am already looking for another Disney Cruise to book and can’t wait to bring my little one in the near future 💙

The cruise ship pulls right up to the pier and you can walk right off to the beach (or tram if preferred). 🏖️Grab a chair or hammock and kick back at one of the family beaches or the adult exclusive beach, Serenity Bay. While there’s nothing better than toes in the sand at Castaway Cay, there’s so many activities available too.
