It will be a few weeks before we get Carl’s inhaler and medication, but my friend Shannon let me borrow this inhaler so I can start training him! Luna asthma update. The allergy pills did not work. We are looking into getting her like a kitty inhaler. But before we take that step, we are going to try some steroids to get the inflammation down first. Her first dose of steroids this morning did not go very well. I don’t think much made it in her mouth. Luna is NOT good with oral medicine. Hopefully tonight’s will go better. Long term steroid use is risky and with her being overweight it is a bit more risky. We are going to do some bloodwork in 2 weeks to make sure the medication doesn’t give her diabetes. Mr. Crinkles. Poor baby has been having some breathing issues. Good news is we’ve had x-rays and bloodwork done and he’s got a healthy heart and lungs, and the bloodwork’s clear. Herbie update! He had the feeding tube removed last Friday and his diagnosis is asthma. A few weeks ago Herbie was having difficulty breathing and he stopped eating on his own. It was very scary for foster mama Lee. He went to @townncountryanimalhospital for blood work, X-rays and an exam. He spent a night there. He had a feeding tube put in and it stayed in 2 weeks. Prescriptions have been written and recommendations made for his care. Thank you to those who donated. I will look at how much was raised later but I don’t think we raised everything to cover all of his care. Cat Asthma? Good news! Our DIY box saves my brofur Simba's life! And we love him so much, as you can see. Roxie is supervising as our DIY asthma Aero "cat chamber" is working! Over the last year Poor Simba has been struggling to breathe and recently to keep his head up, he was inching closer to the rainbow bridge ... struggling with his asthma and other health problems. His asthma got so terrible that it would choke him... mommy even started doubting it was asthma. Hi friends, look at Simba! So, we made a homemade Aero Chamber for my dear Simba cat. He has terrible asthma and has been suffering with congestion . The inhalers were not getting in deep enough and so I recommended having his medicine nebulized. The vet was able to find something called budesonide and now we are instead of holding a mask to his face putting him in a happy breathing box. Because he needs nebulized asthma treatment. I was tired of holding the mask up to his face as he distressfully moved to try to get away from it, round and round it was stressful for both of us and then he started hiding when he saw the machine come out. Florabear🐾 Flora has been really unwell recently and put the fear of God into both Luke and I. Luke noticed one evening, just over a week ago, that Flora’s breathing was very fast and very shallow. We measured each breath and messaged the vets with our concern. The following day, the vets called me out of work to get her seen ASAP, her breathing was more than double the speed it should be. They kept her in for XRays and found fluid on her lungs, they took a sample of the liquid and some bloods to be sure they could rule anything really serious out. When the results came back they believed it could be one of two things; asthma or a heart condition. Flora went off her food the night we noticed her breathing being off and didn’t eat for 6 days…the only thing she would try was the additional water I added to some tuna and Lick-e-Lix. Even with the tuna, she would not eat the meat. After two short term steroid injections with the plan in place to get her onto an inhaler in the New Year, she has perked up massively! Hello furriends & Happy December!😻🧡🤗 Apawlagies for missing you last Meownday & unfortunately, again today as I've been under the weather. 🙏🤒 As you may recall, I have mild asthma with a chronic cough & it typically flares up with the weather change fall-to-winter.🍂❄ I've been sleeping a lot (in a spot high up where meowmy can barely reach me as seen in this pic😴) & my energy is quite low--I don't even want to go outside for my daily walks so meowmy knows I'm not feeling well.😞 Fortunately, my appetite is still ok.😋👍 .
