1970년대 김창열 작가의 물방울 회화는 마포의 거친 물성과 물방울의 반짝임, 영롱함이 대조를 이루는 특징을 가지고 있습니다. 영롱한 빛과 빛 반사를 머금은 그림자로써 물방울의 존재를 설명하면서 동일한 음영의 강도와 형태로서 완결성을 갖는 형상을 표현하여 극사실적인 효과를 창출합니다. 이는 극사실적인 재현성을 목표로 한 것은 아니지만, 눈속임의 효과를 지닌 관념적인 재현성을 통해 캔버스의 지지체를 초현실적인 공간으로 개념화한 것입니다.

김창열은 일찍이 한국 전쟁을 통해 생사의 고비를 경험하며 앵포르멜 운동 심취하였습니다. 1957년 한국미술가협회를 설립하여 서구의 앵포르멜 미학을 기반으로 아방가르드 회화을 추구하였고, 한국 모더니즘 회화의 기반을 다졌습니다. 작가는 1960년대 부터는 국제 화단으로 활동 영역을 넓여 뉴욕 아트 스튜던츠 리그에서 수학하며 해외미술을 경험하게 됩니다. 이 시기 뉴욕은 팝아트가 주류를 이루며 미니멀아트, 개념미술, 하이퍼 리얼리즘 등 다양한 사조가 유행하였을 때로, 작가는 적극적으로 새로운 미술의 흐름을 흡수하였습니다.
본 작품은 사조의 수용이라는 뉴욕시기의 특징이 여실히 드러나는 기계적 반복으로 기하학적 구형이 가득찬 화면구성을 띄며, 이후 나올 물방울 회화의 연작을 암시하는 듯 합니다. 반복적이면서도 장식적인 배치와 기하학적 분할 구성은 그가 생계를 위해 넥타이에 문양과 글씨를 새겨넣는 일을 했던 경험에서 비롯되기도 합니다. 전쟁을 겪으며 생명과 죽음, 자존, 근원과 영원에 대한 실존적 희구를 향해있던 김창열의 미의식이 당대 뉴욕에 유행하던 사조인 미니멀리즘, 옵아트, 기하추상 등의 적극적인 수용과 함께 차분하고 절제된 미감으로 표현된 작품이라 설명할 수 있습니다.

Onibode Iju - 'Somos o quilombo da foresta' 2023 Creación que deje sin subir por razones desconocidas y que ahora apareció aquí en esta memoria digital. Probablemente porque mucho eco no hace una diminuta foto de una trabajo de ilustración en un formato A1. Fue un trabajo bello, donde exprimí mi sensibilidad e intuición descubriendo un paisaje onírico en el que introducí una diversidad grata de elementos y lenguajes visuales. La vibración de las texturas, colores, efectos, encuentros y desencuentros, son la fantasía en si misma. Ese mundo de experiencias que nos esperan en los confines de la consciencia, para vivir ese encuentro con la abstracción que nace de la emoción tomando tan diversas formas. En este caso, Onibode Iju, deidad afro protectora de la foresta', de la vida, del origen natural que nos despliega y nos vuelca al sentir, la necesidad, la emoción, el deseo de admiración y respeto a todo. Yo soy parte de la vida, pertenezco a la vida. Creo que es una formula que obviamos, siendo que es una afirmación fundamental. Considerablemente, importante para el tiempo que nos acaece, donde las resistencias balanceadas, responsables y diversas son cruciales para cada ser vivx presente y por presentarse. Espero sus ojos hallen más que píxeles, naturalizados, sino está intención genuina de amor por la vida y por cada ser con quienes recreamos la vida. Живеем в съотнесен, взаимосвързан свят. Всяко едно действие, неминуемо е свързано с друго действие или реакция от действието. За да осъзнаем този процес, е необходимо да се оставим на спокойствието да преценим какво се случва с околността и как контактуваме с нея. Балансът е равновесна категория, но не означава на всяка цена равенство. И ако все пак, той е израз на някакъв вид хармония, то тази хармония е постигната на базата на различие, а не на еднаквост. Но различията се нуждаят от съвместимост, за да са в хармония, а съвместимостта означава, преди всичко, съотносимост. Затова нашият взаимосвързан свят се намира в състояние на перманентна съотносимост. Произведението "Свързан баланс"търси истина, чрез една симулирана перманентно свързана пространствена система. Тя е статична като конструкция, но динамична като материална трансформативност. В тази трансформативност са провокирани материалните инертните качества. Това е лабораторен, взаимоскачен процес в пространството на галерията на гравитационна дислокация на инертния материал в скрита за окото на зрителя кинетика. Постфактум, разхождайки се през всички нива на галерийното пространство зрителят открива причинно-следствените действия от този процес, обхващащ нивата на нейната кухина. Ресурсът е самото пространство и неговите възможности. Цялото пространство е въвлечено да участва. То е ценност, която произведението се опитва да открие. Използван е пробивът между всички нива в кухото тяло на галерията, за да бъде развита идеята. Всяко ниво е ориентирано към междината на срещуположното. Кота 0, кота 1, кота -1 и кота -2. От тях са използвани трите работни експозиционни нива: кота 0, кота -1, кота -2, които се свързват, чрез процес в низходящо направление, защото става дума за гравитация. Кота 1 е офис, включен с гледната точка "от балкон", която обхваща динамиката на процеса през всички нива. The last still life of 2023, “Poached Pear.” I remember this dessert was a favourite for the holidays.
