On a recent Saturday afternoon, I had a remarkable experience when our usual Vegas drum circle visited Pahrump. Just a ten-minute walk from my apartment, in the parking lot of a local Mexican restaurant that overlooks what used to be a golf course—now considered our backyard—a diverse group of people gathered. Armed with their drums, they came together to share in the universal language of rhythm. This event turned into an amazing gathering among friends and newcomers who ventured out to join us for the day. The beats echoed through the open parking lot, creating a vibrant atmosphere that was both energizing and soulful. It felt as if the music and the setting were perfectly aligned, enhancing the communal spirit among everyone there. These experiences are rare but incredibly meaningful. They serve as a reminder of our tribal roots and the profound connections we share through music. These moments let us reflect on the shifts and changes in our lives, tying us back to something ancient and grounding.
