I’ve been teaching at @musical.minds_ for three years now and I’ve never been more certain I am on the right career path with the right people than I am right now! My days are filled with music, singing, creating, playing, dancing, laughing and learning. As well as making meaningful connections with the wonderfully diverse people in my community. My roll as Music Coordinator at Musical Minds has given me the ability to support my creative practice as a musician and performer while remaining deeply connected to music everyday. Nothing has felt more rewarding in my 20 year career than the satisfaction I get from nurturing a love of music and creativity in students as young as three weeks old and I feel like my work has just begun. . Alors, comment me suis-je donc retrouvée à Bamako pour ce premier voyage vers le continent africain? En septembre 1999, je décidai de commencer l’apprentissage du djembé (percussion d’Afrique de l’Ouest très probablement apparue au Mali). J’avais trouvé un cours à Paris, rue Mansart dans le 9ème arrondissement, et j’aimais beaucoup ce rendez-vous hebdomadaire du jeudi soir. Je progressais tranquillement et me passionnais pour l’instrument (à vrai dire, quand je commence une activité, soit ça ne me plaît pas, soit je deviens très vite passionnée et j’ai besoin d’approfondir le sujet 😊). Un jour, quelqu’un passa déposer une proposition de stage de « danses et percussions traditionnelles » au Mali, à Bamako donc. Gestion du voyage par une association à « taille humaine », logement chez l’habitant, cours avec un expert local du djembé… Il ne m’en fallait pas beaucoup plus pour me décider. 昨日はギタリスト前田智洋君のライブに数曲参加させて頂きました⭐️前田君とは過去にトリオでは共演しましたが、今回のソロツアーでのサウンドはそれとはまた違った物で、彼の世界観がそのまま映し出す素晴らしいギターの音色が会場の"夜を灯して"の空間いっぱいに広がる様子が素敵でした。あっという間の素敵な時間でした🙏 3枚目は昨日の自分のセットの写真を撮るのを忘れてたので、とりあえず片付けて撤収する時の写真😂 いつも通りコンガを中心に…と思ったのですが…。向かって左手は…20年前にSaikoubaの音に魅せられて購入したけど、その時は人前で披露する前に売却してしまって…今年に入って全く同じ物をネットで発見しポチったコートジボワール製のブガラブ。 #percussion #percussionplayer #djembe #bougarabou #村上孝則 #前田智洋 #野蛮人
