It was built between 1926 and 1932 and is 65m high and 205m long. I find it fascinating every time I think about the huge structures our ancestors built. We are in Saxony-Anhalt and here in the mountains there is a watershed that supplies both the Elbe and the Weser rivers with rainwater. Construction of the castle is said to have begun in 1110. I’ve got the feels this morning. I love this photo of two of my sisters. It reminds me how lucky we are, to have a family to walk through life with. A space when younger to learn how to love, to disagree, to misunderstand, to make mistakes, to forgive to grow and laugh with. Eventually a safe space to meet family and ourselves where we’re at. Ending the need to change anyone, is such a freeing mind set. Everything else is not our business, we have ourselves to deal with. Sometimes the love grows as time ticks, sometimes it dims but we all know life is short.
