We’re not the type of people who travel to the same place twice but every now & then you stumble across a resort that ticks all the boxes and now everywhere we go will be measured against it. Not only is Fito Aqua Bleu Resort beautiful - low-level whitewashed buildings with private bamboo-covered terraces backed by mountains - but the staff can’t do enough for you. We were kindly upgraded to a family suite upon arrival as they thought we’d be more comfortable there and they were right. It was one of the biggest rooms we’ve stayed in Greece (ample room for 2 adults & 2 children) and we appreciated the additional sofa & storage. Location-wise I can’t fault it either. Situated on the beach, it’s a short stroll to the cobbled streets of Pythagoreio Town for dinner (or an easy 5 euro taxi if you don’t fancy walking) and a rather handy 7 mins drive from the airport. (It’s literally at the end of the runway - there are not many flights so it’s fun watching them come over.) Food at the Almyra Restaurant is delicious and they kindly let us take it away to eat on our terrace during nap time. The grounds overall are just so neatly presented with quirky sculptures dotted throughout. (Staff told me they have guests who have been returning for 20+ years so they like to add new things & surprise them each year.) I could go on - I mean look at those sun beds - but I think I’ve convinced myself to go back already. What about you?!
