A middle tone from which light and dark were drawn, a cast, not a color We want drawings to look real, but I take Tiepolo's face at face value, with no worries, because the color is "unreal."

A Week In LA Recently spent a week in LA with the daughter touring various college campuses. (Seems like only yesterday when she was questioning me about my explanation of the origins of a dead Japanese beetle she would take into her 1st grade “Show & Tell.” She found it hard to believe that, THAT little beetle had started its life all the way in Japan before hitching a ride on a plant in a boat bound for here. Even after I clarified that, THAT beetle had not, she still Googled my story to confirm dad knew something.) Had a blast doing those touristy things. Weather was, well, LA fantastic. I love these Renaissance drawings! 🙌❤️🇮🇹 About 1520 Sebastiano del Piombo Italian, 1485-1547 “Black and white chalk on two joined sheets of paper, silhouetted, pricked for transfer This is a rare surviving Renaissance “cartoon” (from cartone, Italian for “large sheet of paper”). Sebastiano used it to transfer his design for the head of Saint James to a chapel fresco in Rome. Dots were pricked along the lines of the sheet, and chalk dust was tapped through them, resulting in a framework of marks for painting. I paid a visit to the Getty Center after quite a few years to check out the new blood in medieval art exhibit and it was rad! A little small but I found it interesting and the gardens are always beautiful.
