Had to see Miss Lieser one last time and of course take some photos before she leaves Austria. Gustav Klimt’s “Portrait of Miss Lieser”, a painting of a young woman left unfinished when the Austrian artist died, sold at auction for record-breaking 38 million euros. The mysterious painting went to a mysterious bidder from Hong Kong. Gustav Klimt started work on the “Portrait of Fräulein Lieser” in 1917, the year before he died, and it is one of his last works. The Im Kinsky auction house stated that a painting of such rarity, artistic significance and value has not been available on the art market in Central Europe for decades. The recent discovery of the “Portrait of Fräulein Lieser” was a sensation. It was previously only known from a black-and-white photograph and had been believed lost until Im Kinsky received a phone call from the consignor around 16 months ago. The identities of both the subject of the painting and the client are up for debate. Klimt’s own notes identify the commissioning party only as “Lieser”. It was long believed that the painting was commissioned by Adolf Lieser and portrayed his daughter, Margarethe Constance Lieser. However, Im Kinsky now believes that the portrait may have been commissioned by Henriette Lieser-Landau, the ex-wife of Justus Lieser, Adolf’s brother, Ploil said. Henriette, an arts patron and friend of Alma Mahler, had two daughters—Annie and Helene—who could have been the subject of the painting. A report in the Austrian newspaper Der Standard said Annie’s US immigration documents recorded her eyes as grey, while the girl in the painting has brown eyes. But Helene, who became a successful economist, did have brown eyes, Der Standard reported. The uncertainty and mystery surrounding this portrait remains, however, the portrait is with certainty incredibly beautiful and radiant. It was a #privilege to see paintings by Gustav Klimt in person. Being able to examine all of his jewel-like details and his dynamic brushstrokes was simply magical! This painting, “Death and Life” (1910/1911, 1912/1913, 1916/1917) is considered one of his masterpieces. Death is represented on the left of the canvas, humankind on the right. Apparently Klimt drastically altered the painting from its original version, adding detail and expanding both his representation of death and humankind. It’s argued that this painting illustrates Klimt’s love of ornamentation, informed by Japonisme and Symbolism. Soit en 1840, à Paris dans la rue des marchands de tableaux (ça ne s'invente pas), où naît Oscar Claude Monet, fils de d’Adolphe et Louise-Justine Monet Sa soif d’indépendance et sa forte personnalité en font rapidement un sacré galopin, dont les nombreux dessins et caricatures attirent les regards locaux . La mort prématurée de sa maman à l’hiver 1857 est une perte immense pour le jeune Claude, qui trouvait chez elle un certain soutien artistique… S’il arrête ses études, sa tante Jeanne l’accueille et l’encourage à néanmoins poursuivre le dessin Sa soif de liberté l'amène alors à croiser la route d'Eugène Boudin [4], peintre de renom qu'on surnommait le roi des ciels et des paysages 🌳 Ce dernier également l’encourage dans sa voie, et lui apprend à dessiner ciel et mer... En somme, à ouvrir son regard . Ölüm denen gerçekle karşılaştığımızda (genç yaşta veya yaşlı farketmez) ise, bu kendimiz olabiliriz ya da bir yakınımız işte o zaman geçici olan dünyanın farkına geçici olarak varıyor; sonra tekrar uyuyoruz. Biz derin uykudayken sürekli bizi izleyen ve dalga geçerek gülen bir “ölüm” olduğundan habersizce… ölüm denen bu karanlık gaybı hayatın her alanında aklımızda tutmalı ve ona uygun bir şekilde yaşamalıyız.
