After seeing" Blindstrom for Kazimir" a very dear friend of mine told me these precious words : "touching is healing" May this work be a healing from all forms of colonial repression. Blindstrom for Kazimir, 2023 Composite sheets and acrylic paint on the wall Installation variable. This installation consists of pairs of iden- tically white and black rectangles. They form a composition that is reminiscent of the paintings of the artist Kazimir Malevich (1879-1935). Although he was born in Kyiv, Ukraine, Malevich is often incorrectly called a Russian artist. In the 1920s and 1930s, the works of many Ukrainian artists were con- fiscated, censored and sometimes paint- ed over and scratched. The artworks were not destroyed as the occupation of Kyiv crossed the plans of the secret services. The German occupiers looted the entire collection. After their restitution and until the end of the Soviet reign, they were kept in a secret collection called “Spezfond,” which is now part of the National Art Muse- um of Ukraine (NAMU) collection. The artist transferred the traces of abrasion and damage from these paintings onto the black tactile panels. Later converted into a transportation museum, the Hamburger Bahnhof in Berlin-Moabit is now a museum of contemporary art and is featured in our Berlin calendar for the next 31 days. We have Josef Paul Kleihues' plans to thank for the building's current appearance. Again @alexandrapirici created a stunning, highly sensual performative artwork. »Attune« opened last night at @hamburger_bahnhof and will be performed every single day until October 6th (daily from 1pm to 5pm and on Thursdays from 3pm to 7pm). The piece is site specific and explores the human body and mind. Hamburger Bahnhof is always a good idea 🤍 The magnificent flower you see on the picture is part of an installation “10th of May 2016 (Cherry)” by @petrit.halilaj and @alvaro_urbano. With some snow & hail in Berlin recently it was definitely nice to feel some May vibes. But the exhibition I would really like to recommend is “Estuaries” by @naamatsabar - it’s all about music and you can touch it all. Honestly, such a good feeling .
