With all the global turmoil dished to us by many irresponsible news media outlets, like animals being digitally forced fed in our social media cages, where humanity’s darkest capabilities are laid bare. We see the worst of humanity, not the best…in the form of mass shootings, the inhumanity of Gaza and Putin’s failed war in Ukraine, and more. All spoon fed to us by the minute. It’s so important to focus on the good and why I do a daily grateful journal. Through my own adverse experiences, detailed in “Mastering Fear,” I’ve come to understand that our greatest weapon against the negative abyss is not just resilience, but the deliberate choice to seek out and amplify the light amidst darkness. This terribleness that is put on display to us cannot, and should not, extinguish the spark of hope, and compassion of the human spirit. These are the rough waters we must navigate when all else seems lost. It’s a lesson hard-earned since leaving home at 16 and becoming a Navy SEAL, and a core tenet in my book mastering fear. In the face of the worst humanity, remember: we have the power to counter darkness with light, hate with love, fear with courage. This is not mere optimism; it’s a strategy for survival, for thriving. It’s about making the choice to focus on the good, even when it feels like a mere whisper against the roar of conflict. Because it’s in those whispers that we find the strength to keep fighting, not just for survival, but for a better world. Putting my letters from a dear friend in my memory chest 🤗 It really moved me and helped me heal a lot when my friend Sonja came to be with me during my surgery recovery. She flew all the way from Austria just to help take care of me during my time of need. During her stay here, the things this woman shown me gave me hope again. Something that I was falling short of during that period of my life. I was feeling very defeated; Yet, my friend from ACROSS the world came to help me through it and stayed an entire month to help my dad and I out. Today, I had my first yoga workshop experience in the lovely community of Southport. I had a full room of students eager for Yoga Nidra and curious about CBD. Yes! I am a HUGE feeler and go off of energy that I receive from others, from spaces and places. I was greeted by the owner who I finally got to meet in person with a huge hug ❤️ As soon as I walked into this space, I knew I was in the right place to “broadcast my essence” which ironically was the card I drew today. Today is Thanksgiving, marking the end of the year and the beginning of a new one in just a few weeks. For me, it’s a time of reflection on the year's events and taking inventory. It’s a moment of self-truths and revelations, which you could call "aha moments". I always encourage everyone to take a "self pause" or a timeout from our busy lives for these journeys of self-discovery. For me, it was disconnecting from my daily life and taking a trip to Greece. Ironically, what was supposed to be a bucket list trip ended up being the best experience and life lesson. The people I encountered on this trip helped change my perspective and thinking. I met individuals who opened my eyes to the world and showed me valuable lessons in love, courage, and perseverance. Their stories renewed my faith and hope for the future. This Thanksgiving, I'm grateful for the unexpected journey that reminded me that the best is yet to come.
