We wanted to share some great things happening at Superior this month. On Thursday, April 11 Superior Abrasives hosted a silent auction in support of a coworker. While looking over the silent auction offerings, this quilt set caught Everett's eye. When his coworkers in the Shipping Department, Carol and Sommer, heard how much Everett wanted it they worked together to ensure they outbid anyone who came into the running. 🎉 This story ends on a happy note with the two winning the quilt set for Everett. Let me make something clear: IT IS OK to not find a fat person attractive. It really is. We all have preferences and that is FINE. What is not ok is to decide to withhold respect, dignity, and decency from a person because you don’t find them f*ckable. That is just disgusting behaviour. They often hold the most valuable lessons. 🔆 Spend time reflecting on your experiences, emotions and beliefs (and limiting beliefs!)Feel into what may be holding you back from fully stepping into being your most authentic self. 🔆 Give yourself the most self-compassion and kindness, speak to yourself as if you would a close friend. 🔆 Allow yourself to feel and process any emotions that are in your body, anything you are holding on to from the past or present. You can do this through practices such as meditation journalling, dancing, yoga.. 🔆 Learn to be ok with saying no to things that don’t align your values or priorities and set clear boundaries at work, in relationships, friendships etc.. 🔆 Practise gratitude! By shifting your focus towards the good in your life, it acts as a magnet drawing you towards more positive experiences and emotions. Practising gratitude is like building a muscle, the more you work on it the stronger it gets. 🔆 Spend 5-10 minutes each day practising mindfulness meditation. This will help you to stay present and grounded in the moment. It’s national poetry month yaw!🥲🫶🏾🩷 I’m very proud to share a piece that’s really out of my comfort zone, along w/ the actual lyrics! The poem !🫶🏾 As well as a poetry workshop presentation that I was able to share with @psychesofcolor this last Saturday🫂🩷 THANK YOU🫂 Something that I’ve been trying to work on is my vulnerability, and allowing myself to feel however the hell im feeling😭😭. Working on not practicing this kind of toxic positivity, b/c we will not always be our best selves and that’s okay. Noticing that creative blockages come from the lack of feeling content within certain areas in your life🫂❤️ same goes for when you don’t feel like doing yo homework💀 or cleaning your bed 💀 YOURE STRESSED! Therefore please acknowledge that, TALK! SPEAK! And all will flow🫂💞 especially for my youth and young adults🫶🏾🤎 I had been really sick for like two weeks during spring break💀 and couldn’t do nothing but what did come to me was my creativity. I have compiled the key points here for you so you can be prepared in advance 🌞 Emily Post Summer Tipping Guide Au pair or daily babysitter: A gift from your family (or one week’s pay) plus a small gift from your child. Babysitter: One day or evening’s pay, plus a small gift from your child. Dog walker: One week’s pay. Pool cleaner: $20 to $50, or the cost of one cleaning. It has been a full two weeks of waking up every day and feeling grateful to be alive. I find myself at the end of the night, getting ready for bed, thinking to myself, “I love my life.” You see, this life hasn’t always been easy, and that’s okay. I was never looking for easy; I was looking for peace. I have discovered that if you go to bed and reflect on your day, being grateful for all the little victories, you will sleep peacefully and wake up with a sense of harmony. The grounding, the journaling, the reading, the meditation, the gym, the travel, the coaching, the group chats, the phone calls, the sleep and even something as simple as drinking water - they all work together to bring me peace. But most of all, seeing the people I love thriving is what keeps me going. I want to reach the top alongside each and every one of you. For those who get there before me, I hope I have loved you enough that you will lend a hand. And for those beside me, let’s allow our curiosity to lead us on our adventure.
