Campers see the Florida State Butterfly as it flies from flower to flower across Hugh Taylor Birch State Park. Zebra longwings are medium-sized butterflies with elongated wings. They cannot be confused with any other Florida butterfly. Their black and yellow wings are easily recognized as are their caterpillars. We would like to take this opportunity to thank SAFCO, an outstanding company, who this week dedicated their time and labor to giving back to Hugh Taylor Birch State Park and their local community. 🌳💙 SAFCO completed not one but two service projects for the park, contributing a total of two days of service this week. 🤝 This dedicated group installed rope fencing along our playground’s new ADA accessible sidewalk, no easy feat, as it required them to dig 3-foot-deep holes into the ground to place the posts for the rope fencing. 🚧🌈 They also helped the park to create a beautiful pedestrian pathway to prevent erosion near the new sidewalk. 🏞️ The group did all this hard work with smiles on their faces. 😊 They had an excellent group dynamic and disposition, and all around were such a fun group to work with! 👏 On the second day, they came out to the park and assisted us with a beach cleanup, they found lots of micro trash and did an excellent job of cleaning up the wrack line, an important habitat on our beaches. 🏖️🌊 A big thank you to SAFCO and these outstanding volunteers! 🙌🌟 #CommunityService #Gratitude #SAFCOHeroes" #FLStateParks #fortlauderdalebeach #gratitude #volunteers #CommunityPartnership #EnvironmentalChampions #HughTaylorBirchStatePark
