I’ve been a HUGE fan of Joel Olsteen for over 10 years before I had kids! Naturally I was excited when I found out that my business convention this past week would be held in Houston since that’s where Joel’s church is located! So months ago I booked my returning flight later than I normally would to make sure I could attend his service in person. I even checked his online schedule months prior and called his church to confirm that he would actually be in attendance. I eagerly showed up this past Sunday morning and didn’t hesitate to ask the staff if they could put me as close to the sanctuary as possible. 😄 It was not until I took a seat on the third row in the front that I found out Joel wasn’t there that day. I was confused, shocked, and disappointed. 😢 But as soon as those emotions came, I quickly gained perspective and wasn’t upset. I stayed present the entire service and was amazed of the entire production with a live band, skilled singers, a wonderful choir, a thought provoking sermon by another pastor, people’s testimonials of how God changed the trajectory of their lives, and prayer partners to pray for each other. I have never attended such a lively Christian service that felt like a concert but this one was more deep, spiritual, and intimate! People were very passionate, kind, and welcoming, just like the family that I met and offered to show me around after the service. ❤️ I didn’t get what I mainly came for, but I received more than I had anticipated. As a practicing Catholic, I am true to my faith, but I also keep my mind open to other religions that echo the fundamentals of being good humans and living out our purpose on earth. Overall I’m glad that I stayed throughout the service and didn’t let the early disappointment rob me of receiving what I was meant to receive that day. 🙏 I still hope to meet Joel in person one day! 😉 #lakewoodchurch #joelolsteen #spirituality #spiritualgrowth #purposedrivenlife

What is God’s mind? —That we have prayer be an event where we mark a day on our calendar and then commit to focused-joint prayer on that day? —Or was God’s mind revealed when Jesus went to the cross to shed His blood for the new covenant where prayer is given meaning, and is set within the terms of the covenant – and thus set within the priesthood of Jesus Christ. I find that prayer, for the most part, has been used as a tool to … > get things from God > let God know how serious we are > let our emotions out > to let God know we want His will 👉🏻 The will of God is no longer a mystery. The will of God is covenant. At prayer events, Bible scriptures are quoted about Esther to help us “feel the part” — or push the button that says “this is God’s will” – all the while ignoring the priesthood of the believer. 👉🏻 I’m speaking of the covenant priesthood that God had specifically designed for communication and fellowship with Him where the exchange is EQUAL. 💡 He gave us Jesus Christ (to express His love) and then designed the priesthood for us to RETURN the gift to Him with an increase in mind. 🔥 THE DIVINE CALL – Return to Me. Return to the priesthood of your faith. How does one return the church to the priesthood of Jesus Christ, the priesthood of each believer, the priesthood of the new covenant? 👉🏻 That has already been done. — God restored apostles to the church to restore the foundation of truth and the altar of Christ. — Those who are restored in truth are now rebuilding the altar to offer spiritual sacrifices to God. God’s challenge to ministers who still accept theology in place of the doctrine of Christ: are you trying to teach God’s plan subjectively? Beginning with the gospel of John, Prophet Casey teaches how Jesus bridged the conflict that existed in theological struggles. John 9:1-3 1 And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth. 2 And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? 3 Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him. “You’ll notice that this question was not asked by the scribes and Pharisees who were trying to disprove Jesus, but rather it was asked by Jesus’ disciples. They asked, “Who did sin” based on what they saw. Jesus knew that the root of this question and of all theological struggles was hidden in man’s nature (sin). The disciples used their own fallen nature as a reference point in their search for reality and they could not see beyond themselves and that’s why Jesus said, “I am the light of the world.” (John 8:12). Jesus redirected His disciples, as if to say, “You’re trying to fit everything you see into your present theology, but I’m teaching you a new way – to reference me – not sin. I’m your new point of reference.
