Mustang. We are starting to understand what this place is about. Tibet has been bleeding for years, but the blood has somewhat dried up. We are traveling through what is possibly the deepest gorge in the world, with the road climbing to around 3k-3,5k meters. To the left, Dhalaugiri, and to the right, Annapurna - both above 8k meters. We veer off to small traditional villages where people still live in traditional homes. But they are completely accustomed to strangers. Mustang thrives on Western tourists, particularly climbers who flock here in large numbers at this time of year. The trails are blooming with rhododendrons, the temperatures are suitable, and with a bit of luck, the clear air allows you to admire the highest mountains. As for us? We are incredibly lucky. We land in villages that are slightly off the beaten path. We climb up to waterfalls and splash around in them like children. By sheer chance, we find mountain lakes that even the locals don’t know about. We tackle single tracks that resemble hard enduro mountain courses. In short - we are truly living it up!
